BBC 5 Live in Dublin

    Hi all,

    I need to pick up BBC Radio 5 Live around Dublin via old school mw/lw - no smartphone apps or online connection, just via a regular ole wireless.

    Is the signal reliable enough along the east coast for BBC and would any old radio with mw/lw do in general, or would I need to look at a slightly pricier model?

    A decent MW radio will suffice.

    As well as 693 and 909 kHz, try 990 which is from a low power transmitter in Wales. And if you are listening between midnight and 6.30 am, 5 Live is on Radio Ulster 1341 kHz.

    693 and 909 can suffer from multipath distortion and echoing especially at night, caused by the signals on these frequencies originating from different transmitter sites all around the UK.
