Where can we find this information. I forget what the name actually was

    Bureau of Military History.

You can search for statements from your locality.
Some of them are mind blowing.

Caitriona was on with the Second Captains last summer, very interesting guest.

Oh Christ, the Late Late Valentine's special is this week :o

    Yes.

I came on to post that it's surely telling that the president decided to turn up on Tommy's show, not the Late Late.

And then you reminded us it's that shambolic ITV style bullshít again next week.

The integrity of the Late Late has never been lower.

Two whole hours of the dullest people in Ireland being plied with drink and then screaming and pissing themselves every time a fellow idiot uses 'Coppers', 'road frontage' or 'the ride' as a punchline.

There's been a few good guests on that have said that they would've only appeared on this show and not the LLS or D'Arsey's crap show. Says it all really.

It just depends on how RTE take it from here. My money's on ' they'll fcuk it up '

Jakers. She is fantastic. Never came across her before.

I think she's been on radio with Sean O Rourke a few times and on the 6.01 News launching a few different things.

Very interesting woman. They should do a 90 minute show of her at work.

Ironically, if I may use a word I'm never fully confident I understand, I thought Tommy was a spanner until last tine I saw him on the Late Late.

He's just so good at listening to his guests and letting them talk.

It'd be very intersting to have, say, Suzanne Jackson or whatever her name is and that Instagram pensioner lady on, to compare the interviews.

    Don't forget 'Shift'.

Careful now, that word caused a riot in Dublin before.

And Tubridy, between fake laughs, constantly referring to what great 'craic' it all is - almost as if he's trying to convince himself.

Great interview with Michael D. This really is a superb show.

The last two weeks especially have been home runs from Tommy.
Musically it doesn't get much better than Rhiannon Giddens. I've followed her since the Carolina Chocolate Drops. Amazing voice and talent.

Similar story. The CCD stuff is brilliant.

A late friend of mine was raving on about them after they were on Jools Holland one night back around 2012. I bought their first album and he bought their second. We copied and swapped.

I love this song. I think they did it on Pat Kenny's show when he was at RTE.

For a guy who likes the "finer things in life" and turns his nose up at most things trite, I find it ridiculous that he gets involved in these types of shows.

Finer things in life me hole. Hes such a pseudo intellectual.

no doubt he will tell us how he enjoys how uniquely "irish" it is.

That was an ok show but even at that it was still way better than The Late Late Show.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Still don't know why Tiernan has a look of shock and amazement on his face when a guest is speaking.

I would be rather sure tiernan and michael D know each other rather well also considering both lived in Galway for long periods.

    How can you even compare?

Thy don;t even try and capture the same audience.

They definitely are two different concepts.

Tommy has a great show and I find it worth watching.

Why do we have to have the same slagging of the LLS each week on this thread?

The LLS thread is there for all matters related to it.

Writer and Toasted Heretic singer Julian Gough used to hang around with Tommy in their college days. He told me Higgins used to call to Tommy for tea and a chat regularly.

I dont watch this program because I can't stand Tiernan but the mrs had a bit of the episode he did with Hozier on and he said just earlier that day he was looking up the lyrics to a Hozier song. I thought the idea of the program was he didn't know who he was interviewing in advance. Or was it meant it was a "coincidence"?

I think at this stage it doesn't really matter whether he knows or not.

It is clear from the actual interviews that Tiernan is not operating to a script and is letting the conversations go where they may.
