They should reshow some of his America and Australia travel shows on a Saturday night instead of that Ant & Dec repeat rubbish. BBC regularly show Michael Palin travel shows, very interesting to see how places and cultures change over the years.

Pity that very little of those shows are available to watch online.

That’s not surprising though. We are mostly lucid until the end.

    wrong quote. Sorry

I wonder does another production company own them or are the original recordings lost?

Mike is very dapper and mentally so sharp for 80.

Mike Murphy was always on the ball.

Went into business after leaving RTE.

Dealing with excessive proletariat exposure on "Winning Streak" drove him mad in the end on the RTE front I think.

    No flies on Mike.

Again, not very surprising. We so rarely see older people on tv, but most of them can still hold their own conversation wise.

While I like the more introspective chats, it's good to have a fun guest like this.

That was great! Mike is a gent and a genuinely funny man. I can’t believe he’s 80!

A badly injected dose of humour and fun after a few weeks of dreary guests.

Very talented man was Mike Murphy. He left RTE on his own terms, whereas Gay Byrne was basically institutionalised by the same organisation. You can see the good that decision has done Mike.

You'd meet Joanne on a blind date and you'd make an excuse to leave after 10mins in..
