It's only for the regular season.

The playoffs and super bowl are not blacked out on game pass this season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,698 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

I didn't see much of the games last night but a few weeks ago who believed the raiders would be playing on the wildcard weekend ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 723 ✭✭✭PhilipsR

I thought Connor Cook looked decent in his little cameo with the Raiders yday.

If he starts I think the Raiders will beat the Texans. Surprised to see them priced at 23/20.

Ill take the 4 homes @ 2.27/1 I think. I can't see a rookie starting his first ever game in the NFL winning a post-season match.

Funny enough last season I backed all the away teams on Wildcard weekend.... and won :D

I think Detroit will at least cover the spread. Seattle seem to have fallen over the line to get to the playoffs. They looked booked for #2 seed and have had a few bad results and even more bad performances.

Giants Packers game is a really hard one to call. Who has the better run game? Suppose it depends ty Montgomery is the real deal, but in that cold it'll be crucial because a passing rhythm will be very difficult to establish. And yet rodgers has hit his stride at just the right time to really catch fire in the playoffs. I think the home advantage is important but the recent past tells us what the giants will think of playing in green bay... I'm going to predict the pack to edge this but it's really the most interesting and difficult to call this weekend. Go giants.

(Texans and raiders is also hard to call but it is hard to see it being relevant to the bigger picture)

Heard this line on podcast earlier that the raiders Texans game is the first playoff game without playoff implications

    I've gone with :
    Raiders to win
    Steelers to win
    Ginats to win
    And Seahwaks to win

I know this probably won't happen but will be an interesting watch

Two very different teams to the Miami-Pittsburgh teams in week 6. A lot of influential Steelers didn't play in defense notably Shazier, Dupree and Davis who are now starters alongside an injured Roethlisberger and no Gilbert or Ladarius Green (though he is now not likely to play this weekend) on offense.

No Tannehill and maybe no Byron Maxwell too for Miami.

With that O-Line, I think he has at least a chance. His receiving corps is also performing well this season.

I just can't see Brock Lobster doing more in this game and Texans have been meh this season winning a crap division.

Penn is missing the first game of his career, that will have an impact on the line.

The Seahawks are still a team I think can win the Superbowl. They met the Dolphins, Falcons, Patriots, Packers, Cowboys and Chiefs during the regular season. The results from those games were 5-1 with the only loss coming in Green Bay.

They didn't play the Cowboys or the Chiefs?

I've been waiting since yesterday evening for the first playoff game to kickoff. Would have been great to see David Carr able to play, but I still think this game has a lot to offer.

    Looking forward to it.

We played the Cowboys and Chiefs during pre season - Romo got hurt in that game.

I think Cook showed enough to be able to go to Houston and pull a W. Playing @ home is actually worse for Osweiler than playing away. If O'Brien has any sense, he'd have some easy completions planned in the playcalling for early on, to keep the fans off his back.

Yeah, don't get the whole dismissal of this game as the worst post season game ever, the worst QBs to get this far etc. etc. Both sides are there on merit and while it's likely the winner will go out in the next game, they deserve a bit of credit and respect for getting to this stage, a lot of teams would love to be in that place right now...

If my memory is correct the playoffs last year started with a kick return touchdown against the Texans.

One country version of the American National Anthem away from kickoff.

And ends in the same stadium!

Only second time in the Super Bowl era that its the case.

Osweiler off to a good start, maybe he is one of those guys that plays well in big games.

I fancy the Raiders though, just feel that Cooper And Crabtree open the field up bit and they'll do enough to win it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

I fancy Raiders to win the turnover battle, so would give them the nod for the game as well. I suspect it to be damn close though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

You can see the loss of Penn for the Raiders there straight away. Christ.

Have ESPN always had playoff games? Are they part of the Super Bowl rotation now?

No, thank God. Still only Fox, CBS and NBC. It's Fox this year.

I'd take ESPN over CBS for commentary.

Well this is a disastrous start for Oakland and cook

Ridiculous play calling by the Raiders. Let him throw the ball.

he never seems to shut up.

Holy hell. That is some awful playcalling

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

Apparently Raiders went back and watched all of Cook's tape from preseason, training, and college to script today's game and draft up playcalls that suit him.

NFL Network heard that earlier and said to watch out for a focus on screen passes to the running backs. Low and behold...

Brutal start for Oakland anyway. The loss of Carr and Penn is having a clear effect.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,052 ✭✭✭poldebruin

ill advised throw, that's the third time they've thrown a pass behind the LOS to that side. A TD here could be enough for Houston the way this game has started.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,328 ✭✭✭the baby bull elephant

Easy to forget that despite being in the same draft as Mack, Clowney is the same age as Mack was in his rookie season.

That was far too easy. Watson has started terrible at LT

Cook, did well to hold onto the ball there. This is just about as bad a start as a team could have.
