    Hi

I haver to make a few sets of floor boards for a few 16ft fishing boats.
I was thinking red deal would be the best as they are for hire boats.
Whilst they need to be hard wearing they would be replaced every 3 years or so.

Am I on the right track with red deal? and where would be a good place to get it preferably West Dublin /West Wicklow.

    Thanks Happy New Year

You should get a few years out of red deal it's not a hard wood so don't expect much from it. McMahon in Cherry Orchard should have it.

How about using that plastic decking as it's only for a hire boat it will do the job and last for ever.

There are two types, solid and cavity. the former is very heavy, both are expensive. I'd be interested to hear if you find a cheap source.
