Donations for Aleppo/Syria

I'll keep this brief, as nothing spoils the Christmas buzz quite like a humanitarian crisis, but a family member has requested a sizeable donation to a charity supporting ongoing aid in Syria/Aleppo in lieu of a terrible, thoughtless gift. I need your assistance in selecting a (relatively) noble charity for the cause. For all the things we've learnt in the last few years, I'm hesitant to give to a random charity that will use my buck to keep its CEO in champagne and caviar this holiday season.

Can anyone recommend an organisation? Does anyone know much about HumanAppeal?

Thanks in advance. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Give it to a local charity like cancer care or a local child's charity , the Muslims on the other side of the world can learn to look after themselves

I appreciate all the good work of the Santa Strike Force, its an incredible gesture from the boards community, but I'm specifically looking for charities dealing with the Syrian crisis. Charity need not be singular and I've donated to various local causes already.

SVP or Simon could use the money.

Maybe something like Red Cross or UNCHR?

Media is more inclined to show pictures of starving kids in Middle East or Africa than starving kids in the next estate over...

Judging by the replies so far, people are finding it difficult to understand your question. Fair play to your family member, thats a great idea. Perhaps Medicin Sans Frontiers, they do amazing work.

The red cross didn't operate in Aleppo until the government took over. I think it's there now.

Not that theres no hardship here but trying to equate the suffering of Syrians currently with relatively poor people in Ireland is just insulting

Make sure it's not one of these "charities" connected to radical Islamist organistaions. As another poster said Medicine Sans Frontiers would be my choice.

As long as you let us know what sort of weapons they're being spent on?

How many fugees has Dubai taken in? That's right zero and why, because they aren't stupid. I wouldn't be giving a single sent to any charity that sends money to "help" in Syria. A lot of it will end up in the hands of jihadist animals beheading men, women and children in the name of you know who.

Suppose you could send it to the Russian airforce

Really??Would love to see you producing sources for MSF/Unicef and other charities recommended on this thread being involved in this.

You're islamophobic agenda is blatant hence the fact you're all over threads to do with the ME like a rash even one where the OP was asking about what charitie to give to.
