What is the "Beats By Dre" of it's industry?

What do you think are the most over priced or/and over rated brand of an industry you're intersted in? No doubt plenty will say "iPhone" or "Apple anything" here.

Im going to say Harley Davidson motorcycles. Based on the obscene cost, they are incredibly underpowered and have always been quite behind the competition for technological improvements.

Is this a direct quote from Dr Dre?

    Good question.

There are many rip off products IMO like Newbridge silverware and most perfume brands but beats by dre is hard to beat, pun unintended.

I've the new Apple anything 7s. It's just like last year's anything but they removed some vital ports from it and somehow I've ended up with more wires than ever.

To be fair to Merc they tend to lead the way with a lot of technical improvements. Things that are in new Merc's now will be found in your average family saloon in 3-5 years.

As an aside, here is the whole story of beats by dre and how they screwed the inventors out of a lot of money. Its an interesting read:

I'd disagree there. They make great aftershaves and you only need a tiny squirt of their stuff to smell great all night.

    San Pellegrino water.

Can get it cheaper than river rock in most shops now, tastes better aswell.

Samsung and HTC Phones, HTC are getting worse and Samsung better but there's much better phones out there, Xiaomis, OnePlus and a couple more that offer much better value with a lot less of the silly gimmicks or overbloated software.

Tommy Hilfiger / Nike many other brands that actually manufacture nothing other than a brand.

    overbloated software.

That's the main reason I havent ever jumped to Samsung. You read so many bad reviews about the software that comes with their phones as standard.

I must say that the first thought in my head whenever I see anyone wearing beats headphones is 'bellend'.

The bass/low end on them is so overpowering, deliberately done to magnify your **** quality mp3 file to an acceptable level, in reality they are just plastic cheap Chinese yokes...

Give me a good pair of Seinheisser cans any day....

A les Paul custom is pretty much the same as the LP standard but with White plastic binding on the inside of the guitar as well as the outside edge and twice the price.

Custom shop anything is not a whole lot better than the actual standard but with a jacked up price and a few different components you could get replaced for a few quid

I second the Starbucks suggestion. Their coffee tastes so watered down.

    Budweiser.

    Pure stink.

And Coors Light or any Diagio owned brand. In fact any hugely mass produced beer will be absolute pish.

All prebuilt PCs are. Only hand built PC built by your self offers the most value, you can save hundreds building your own.

I forgot about Rosetta Stone. The most ineffective thing you can buy for several hundreds of euros.

You can learn more through free materials like Duolingo, Mango, or Memrise. Or websites like LanguageTransfer or SaySomethingIn.

Pure water is, but anything you buy in a bottle isnt pure water. It has natural minerals in the water that create taste. Some is better than others.

Imagine my shock when I went into Dunne's recently looking for a cheap pair of jeans! Yes Paul, your jeans are cheap but the price is outrageous.
