    Just saw this....

    https://www.groupon.ie/deals/foot-massage-board-2

Are there REALLY people that stupid and loose with their cash that this seems like a bargain to them?!! :):)

Think this has to go above and beyond the plank of wood for 60 euro Dunnes were selling earlier in the year. The boom is getting boomier!!

    The boom is getting boomier!!

Apparently we're not as dumb as Groupon think:

Limited Availability - Be The First to Buy.

It does come with a 24mth warranty and only uses 'natural stones'

Each one of those organic and artisan stones has been carefully placed on that living board by somebody with qualifications in massageology.

I read that as Stone Roses stuck on board an A380

    I need sleep

It's reflexbollixology. That alone is worth a good chunk of the purchase price. Chuck in some aroma and a dollop of chakras and it's actually quite a good deal!

I have one of these and I couldn't recommend it enough. In the winter you don't want to be walking around on a stony beach in your bare feel so this is a great alternative.

This phrase annoys me. In recessions or booms there are always stupid people around who will buy overpriced products.

Also, just because something is for sale on a website does not mean that people are buying it.

Does it come in a certain shoe size, because surely someone a size 5 wont get the same benefit if the stones are placed in position for someone a size 10

I understand lego bricks have the same relaxing properties.

We could all get together and knock up a few of these boards. Open a stall in a Christmas market and sit back and watch the money roll in. We'll be loaded:)

    Suitable for feet sizes: XS-XL

What a crazy price for that. I wouldn't pay more than 300 for it maybe 320 at a push. There are some suckers out there though.....you'd wan to be stoned to pay that price

Dunnes stores has a much classier Paul Costello plank of wood for a lot less. If anyone has one I will happily stick some stones on it for 100 quid.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,348 ✭✭✭Jimmy Garlic

Lego will be 20 quid extra.

    Warranty: 24 months.

LOL. Maybe a stone will fall off?

What happens if more up to date stones come on the market? Is there an update option with the board?

It's says 'Suitable for feet sizes: XS-XL'
    - which only adds to the amount of lols, rofls and ros^l's.
    ^stones.

The reflexology associations will be driven mad by this. It's also nothing like walking on a beach, the whole idea of that concept is to get negative ions from the waves, and reduce electromagnetic smog through good earthing.

Reassuringly it also has on the advert ' Be the First to Buy! '
Points awarded for 'enterprise' all the same.

    black marker - check
bit of aul wood - check
    random stones - check
    industrial glue - check

I have one too. At first I baulked at the price but the educational video convinced me. Within minutes of it's arrival I was starting to feel the benefits. The stress of modern life abated as the moans and cries of my family receded, gradually being replaced by the soothing sussurations of a sandy seashore. Peace and tranquility filled my every pore, each molecule of my being vibrating at the frequency of the universe. My mind filled with the knowledge and wisdom of the ages so that I knew the answer to every question mankind has ever asked: why are we here? What does it mean? How did they get the figs into the figrolls? What is Jedward?
All these and more were known to me so that I could just be and not worry about the minutiae of life.
Then I actually opened the box and found a plank of plywood with some stones superglued to it.

On the other hand, it could work. We could all put our heads together and come up with something even more ridiculous. Pop a €500 price tag on it and see how we do?

No I'm talking about tectonically infused, rare Earth magnets.

I wonder if it was out up just to be outrageous and generate publicity, people sharing it, getting Groupon trending on Twitter, sign a few people up to the site in the process etc.

But, it's entirely plausible that someone in there, genuinely thought it was a good idea.

Getting back to the stones & board, you could use a saw to cut around the outline of the foot, strap them to your feet with leather thongs and clomp around town for a day or two with a mystical look on your face.
On the other hand, A&E will probably be closed over Xmas so better leave it til January.

Well, there's the 7 foot Xmas tree from the Dunnes Paul Costelloe "collection" that's selling for a steal at €525.

True, and always double check emails pertaining to be from them, just in case they aren't.

Like everything online, guess it can be compromised according to a news article, yesterday.

As you would expect, the article's semiotics has a hooded chap on a laptop, tapping away in some sort of matrix blue rain.

    Only because

    Sorry, this deal is
    Not yet available

But if you're stuck I could probably arrange one direct from the manufacturers, for a modest commission.

    PS.
Nothing says artisan hand crafted like laser cutter lettering.

    Old hat.

Today you need germanium, negative ion ,magnet and far infra red in your titanium bracelets.

titanium and germanium are non magnetic. Germanium is somewhat similar to silicon and both require insane purity levels and very specific processing for semiconductor action which has nothing to do with new age stuff.

If anyone mentions crystal energy remind them that we are producing about 60 gigawatts of silicon solar panels a year now.

far infra red is the bit of the spectrum emitted by stuff at a temperature of VERY cold stuff. Stuff no hotter than 140 Kelvin ( -133C )

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,586 ✭✭✭4068ac1elhodqr

farIR is all very well, but if it's not attuned to 'Scalar-ionic Energy', you can keep it.

In fact if you bought a Tesla Car, then you probably need to buy also a Nikola Tesla type scalar sticker.
Luckily I has one available for $999.
