Transferring in 1st year

I'm currently studying Sports Management and Coaching in IT Blanchardstown, however I'm unhappy with my choice.

Is there a possibility for me to transfer to Arts in Maynooth University? I know I have to send on a Transfer Form to the university, apply through CAO and drop out before the 1st of Feb to qualify for free fees, but what will happen if I decide to stay and finish this year?

If I stay and do the end of semester exams, will the results have an impact on my chance of transferring? Or does the college only look at the Leaving Cert results and points?

Please help, I really don't know what to do.
