A nice little boost. Alli as captain worked. I don't know how I got away with no Eriksen or Kane though. Unreal.

If Firmino could outscore Lallana and Mané tomorrow, it'll graduate from a good week to a very good one at least.

Captain fail number... probably 12. Such an important part of the game and to get it wrong so often hits hard. 41 points and done for this GW. Kane and Costa are likely to be the two FT.

Personally I banked on Pedro + Kane outscoring Hazard + Defoe over the next 4 games.

and switched back to 3-4-3 and went -12 Fuchs + Hazard + Coutinho + Anichebe -> Alonso + Pedro + De Roon + Kane

The safer option was Fuchs + Coutinho -> Alonso + Eriksen meaning Sanchez (C) = 31 pts deficit.

De Roon is saving my whole strategy this GW from complete disaster over these 4 GWs. But overall it all went wrong... Kane outscored Defoe by 2 pts with the 3 best home fixtures ever. Sums it all.

There are still plenty in my leagues going all out cheap, and it's starting to bite them a bit.

Ah now. If I'd Kane I'd be well angry for a load of reasons.

He's just been at home to two of the best fixtures in the league, and blanked, when many rightly captained him.

Plus Ibra, who was another big option when Aguero got banned, has flown with testier fixtures. And it's not like Spurs haven't scored. They've scored 5, with their other attackers (as well as full backs) all pretty much getting attacking returns.

Sensible decisions going very wrong is one of the most infuriating things that can happen in this game.

The saving grace with Kane this week was that the other viable captains didn't do much. Similar last week.

I had a horrible feeling after deadline yesterday that I shoulda captained Costa, but it's only a 4 point swing, 3 to Sanchez.

Captaining him for his brace v Swansea over Sanchez was actually a worse result than today or last week.

Won't be selling yet as I have already done Costa to Ibra. He may go for Costa's return the week after though.

This is probably what I'm going to end up doing tonight as well. Even though Kane's next 2 fixtures are away they are not exactly bad either (sou & wat).

Up 10k to 37k as it stands. Absolutely hate having nothing tomorrow night. 3 clean sheets and Walcott's goal isn't a bad return as things stand tonight though which says it all for the week.

There is a lot of hand-wringing over Kane. It's a pain but, objectively, he did at most 4 points worse than the rest of the mainstream captaincy candidates. I had him captained the week he scored two and was more disappointed because Sanchez went ballistic and many had him captained so the damage was worse.

Chin up people. As captaincy fails go - this was a great one!!
