Bit sickening to see de Roon (10) & Love (6) on the bench though.

For the vast majority of teams, both would have been on the bench.

Dropped 5k to 174k. I need a big performance from Kane tomorrow or I'm goosed.

    Oh dear oh dear!

28 with just VVD, Sanchez and Kane (c) to go

If Harry blanks it is going to be a disaster

20 with Kane, Alli, Forster, Daniels, Sanchez, Mane and Can to play.

Can probably won't play so Amat will sub in for 1.
Not great but a 0-0 in the early game tomorrow would turn it around.

19 with 6 to play, a lot will depend on how captain Sanchez does tomorrow.

32 from 7. Cedric, Alexis, Origi and Captain 'Arry left to go. De Roon first sub on the bench with his 10 points if any one of the latter trio miss out.

A green arrow would be nice for a change...

    Take two -

You said Ibra will be dropped next match, earlier in the thread.

Any chance you can elaborate ?

Not sure if I said dropped or rested but following on from Jose's interview he said he needs to rest his 35 year old striker over Xmas as it is too much for him. It won't be the next match cause there is sufficient break between now & then.. most likely will 1 after that.

42 points with Sanchez, Walcott, Cook and Mane to go.

    Happy out

That went better than expected. Motd a bit stressful when youre mainly wanting key players not to score and scrappy defenders to hang onto clean sheets.

Went with my gut and benched brunt for Chambers. 3 clean sheets from 3 so far from my defence and GK with Cedric to play.

31 from 6 is always a good return. I fear the Good Sat=Crap Sun principle now though.

Eriksen, Origi, Eriksen, Sanchez and Captain he who shall not be named.

Green arrow so far up to 154k.

He didnt say that at all. Be careful paraphrasing quotes from memory! The quotes are far from conclusive.

Mourinho was asked whether it was difficult to leave out Ibrahimovic. “Yes, it is,” the manager said. “Especially a guy like Zlatan [and] as a striker. Sometimes in other positions you can hide yourself a little more, protect yourself with experience and with position. As a striker he is one of the impossible positions where you can hide. He is phenomenal and plays again tomorrow and then one week to rest. Tomorrow is the last effort and then they will have a week without football – and that is a week my players need.

“I am not surprised at how good Zlatan has been. I knew from the physical point of view he could resist but obviously he cannot play 60 matches. I must give him a rest. He was suspended against Arsenal, so that game he did not play. In some matches in the Europa League he was on the bench, also against Northampton [in the EFL Cup]. So now and again I will find a way to give him a rest but as our target striker we can see he is the only one. And the way we normally play we need him.”

He'll almost certainly get a rest for the FA Cup match on the 7th and presumably won't play the EFL game. So they now have a nine day break, followed by 3 games in 8 days. After which if he skips the cup games, which has been the protocol so far he can have a fortnight off.

I'd be surprised if he misses a league game.

No way is Ibra being rested, united can't afford to drop points particularly when those ahead are doing so obviously just my opinion, but he is far to important to Jose to rest particularly at the moment.

Totally agree, bought him a few weeks ago as a player who wouldn't be dropped over the festive period, maybe 35 but just seems too pivotal to Utd at the moment, I would have same opinion of Sanchez, cannot see him being rested bar cup game

I see you solved my observation-made-theory about captain obvious failure. 2 captains. How didn't I think of it before :p :pac:.

    -

18 from 6 with defense failure. Today I pay the price for not having bought Pickford earlier... But magic De Roon will sub in for Pedro. Saving my GW so far. All on the hands of my big gunss now...

5-0 Spurs win and 5-1 Liverpool win with all their defenders getting sent off.

    Please.

If Kane heavily outscores Alli, I'm not checking my team until St Stephen's Day morning.

    And maybe not even then!

This game is doing my head in, instead of being delighted I brought in Negredo and Ericksen for Hazard/Anchibe I am literally kicking myself for having a brain fart yesterday morning by bringing in Nyom for Gibson and looking at 8 points on the bench. What was I thinking? Trying to say 'it's only a game' and if captain Eriksen gets a hat trick and I score 100 points I'm still going to look at those 8 points and think what a dumb klutz I was.
    29 (should be 36) -4 from 5.

There's potential for Alli to be dropped/rested today, he's been very poor the last couple of games

He was poor against Hull alright but the whole team were poor against United. He did ok against Swansea and got 2 assists. He's just come back from injury so would be surprised if Poch didn't continue playing him in order to get him back to full match sharpness.
