I have done everything I can to remove all cookies from my home computer. I have deleted all cookies from the cookie folder via shell:cookies and I have deleted all cookies from within my Firefox privacy settings and clear all history/cache etc before I do an internet search and yet when I visit a certain travel site it always shows my last travel search. How is this possible and how can I prevent this happening. I even use DuckDuckgo for searches.
Any comments welcome. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried it only using it in a private window?

Also, try blocking third party cookies:

Use a private/incognito window. Make a search, then close the window, open a new private/incognito window and re-open the site. If it's still remembering your search, then it's not identifying you from cookies (there are other methods)

Thanks for the replies. It looks like by default in Firefox 'privacy' the check box for 'use tracking protection in private windows' was checked. So underneath I changed the history setting to 'never remember history' and this seems to have done the trick. With my limited tech knowledge I have always thought that it was only cookies that sites remember you by but it seems there are many other ways they remember you.
Anyway your replies put me in the right direction and problem solved and my knowledge increased another tiny notch.
    So thanks again much appreciated.
