How do eir manage to get it so wrong?

Does anyone know why eir's customer service is so bad? I'm not looking for any horror stories, Lord knows I've plenty of my own. I'm just curious as to how eir manages to be so much worse than any other company I've experienced throughout my long life. :confused:
