(Looks in mirror) when it becomes difficult to get transport, to shop or to carry. Little things (that people take for granted) can become difficult.

    Well done Graces! :)

I am sipping on vitamin water (seriously doubt it's anything but flavoured sugar/sodium water) but it's the healthiest looking thing in the hospial vending machine.

I am used to isolated remote places. A visitor once asked me what I would do If I ran out of coffee... Do without, was my reply. If I am stupid enough to let basic supplies run low then I deserve it.

Before winter I will have three months of supplies of non perishables in the cupboard. Especially for my critters..

My running out of gas was a serious lapse! Been using bottled gas for decades and never before...

    Eating peas..

Have a stonebaked ham and pineapple pizza which I added tomato, cheese and fresh herbs to in the oven. Starving!

Nibbling on some seaweed I dried out in the fresh air over the last couple of weeks and also having a nice bit of fresh crusty nettle bread.

It's still warm from the range with a slightest hint of last years peat.

This year is such a great year for turf and bog cotton.

It wasn't a great year for weaving, but we made the most of it.

I'll be having two dollops of red sauce on an easi single on a cream cracker for dessert.

Homemade mince burgers made with salt, cayenne pepper, garlic puree, onion, coriander powder, ginger powder and a touch of spaghetti mix from tiger. An egg beaten in to with it.

Tomato and avocado salad on the side, with two eggs scrambled in the butter/meat juices left on the pan.

I bought those Frey Bentos tinned meatballs earlier this week and milled them in all their processed glory. Rared on them as a kid.:D

The ladies had some Pork steak, mash and veg with gravy. A shame to waste the leftover Pork. Happy out.

So I walked down the village for a few pints as I'm working weekends and the same this Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I grabbed another can of those meatballs and made up a great mix.

Its a bed of chips, baked beans and the meatballs and gravy on top. Two slices of bread for the mop up.:D It's no posh, but tastes great!

Ah thanks, Talked it over with my boss and decided that THIS year all the fruit
i can gather will be jammed whole or frozen for me in the winter! As well as the elderberries, there are hedges of blackberries and rose hips... Last autumn with no power or freezer or cooker all I could do was stand at the hedge and eat!

    Sounds lovely though..so.. exotic... ;)

Must of been a handy sight for the neighbours and anyone else passing.

You sound like a time traveller from 1847.
