Took a mouthful of tea and was reminded that I bought Aldi teabags because I was too lazy to stop at another shop after. So disappointed:(

Diving into a big feed of bacon, cabbage and spuds. Pot of tea afterwards and a packet of Jaffa cakes to fill out the corners.

    Sabzi polo!

You can buy this Persian dried herb mix in many of the Asian shops. It is mixed into rice towards the end of cooking.

It can be quite pungent; the main note is of dill, so you may not like it if you're not a fan of dill, but it is quite delicious, and an easy way to add a different touch to your rice.

Here, I have added peas to the herbed rice, served with falafel, salad, harissa and minted yoghurt:

I like to blend in a slice of white bread into tomato soup to give a creamy texture, without using cream!

I have chicken legs in the slow cooker.

Just made a marinade out of various herbs and spices and some hot sauce and lime juice.

    The kitchen smells absolutely amazing.

I'll throw some brown sugar and oil over them later and stick them under the grill and make sweet potato wedges and corn on the cob.

Super cheap dins. Take that, nandos.

Excellent. Grate some of the lime zest into butter to go on the corn?

Sirloin steak and chips! The "sauce" is a homemade thing of beauty. Red and green peppers, onions and chilli flakes, all cooked in some soy sauce, sesame oil and garlic powder. A big glass of bainne to wash it all down.

Tomorrow night will be carnage coz of the football!

My favourite chocolate though I don't eat it often.

Am so tired and have so much work to do that am spoiling myself with some chocolate. Unfortunately, I couldn't get to a real shop and the one in my building only has twix that has no nuts in it.

I hate twix. Wish me luck.
