Good breakfast/fry places in Dublin?

Hi, my dad and I usually go tk breakfast every Saturday, but the place we went to has been bought by others and is being done over.

So we're looking for new places, we've tried a few in recent weeks, but nothing good enough. So does anyone knw of any places that do a really good fry, I find it's hard to search on the internet for this, because it only returns the kind of restaurants that I think don't do a good fry, whether. In my experience, it's the "posh" kinds of places that just don't d do a fry right, whether its small portions, only half of the right parts, or not cooked the right way. It's the kind of greasy, not well known places that do the best fry.

Preferably in town or south Dublin. If anyone remembers zuccini in blackrock shopping center, or Patrick's on serpentine road, those are the kinds of places we're looking for.

If you have a little time, take the DART to Bray and try the Ocean Bar & Grill on the Esplanade - just across the level crossing from the station.

Best breakfast I've had anywhere in the greater Dublin area!

Serves from 9 to 12 on Saturday and Sunday.

Gerry's on Montague Lane, which runs between Camden St &Harcourt St.
    Best fry-up around imo!

Edit: it's actually Montague Street, I've thought it was Montague Lane for nearly 30 years!

Brams just past Fairview on the way to Clontarf is a cracker, clean, well cooked and can add Sausages, Pudding or Rashers to your wont.

Matt the rashers on sundrive road might be worth a look, good old fashioned cafe fry up!

Woodstock in Phibsboro, serious fry & parking across the road. It's delish!

Thanks for all the recommendations guys, we'll be trying them all out.

I used to go to Gerrys every single week. It's a greasy spoon and whilst its good value its not a great breakfast.

    Absolutely excellent breakfast.

Also another vote for Brams Cafe. It's more of a greasy spoon than Farmer Browns, and the quality of ingredients wouldn't be up to the same standard, but it's a great spot for one of those big dirty greasy frys that you hanker for the odd time.

Two Boys Brew around the corner is really good too, little bit up its own arse which I don't like but can't deny the food really is good.

Probably too far out of your way, but if you're ever around Stoneybatter direction there's a cafe there called Cowtown, at the junction of Manor St. and Manor Place. They do a pretty decent full breakfast.

If you are in town, up around the fruit markets up past Mary/Capel Street, would highly recommend Brendan's Coffee Shop.  They do a great fry up.  All toast is always batch bread too, delicious.

If you can go to the North Circular Road, I recommend the White Moose Cafe,
Ate there on Saturday last, with the Wife and Child
    Child had pancakes
wife who never eats fry's had a full Irish, which comes with 2 eggs your way, 2 rasher, 2 sausage, beans, smallrooms, tomato, toast, pudding b&w.
    their menu is online. http://www.charlevillelodge.ie/whitemoosecafe.html
had the fry this time, but next it will be steak and eggs.
    really tasty.

Riba in Stillorgan village do a very good all day breakfast, it costs ten euros.

Leonardos in Dunlaoghaire is nice too, its near Dunnes on the main street.

Another thumbs up for Gerry's on Montague Street. Good fry and friendly (Irish) service. Reasonable prices too for a Dublin café.

And if you take any of that seriously, you need to visit a chemist for a bottle of Cop on:p
Food is very good in the place and unlike some other restaurants, deal with your complaint there and then.

Just good luck to you if you threaten to leave a bad review :pac:

Any spots between Pearse St station and the Stephens Green Luas stop, that do a hot brekkie, that would be open at 6.30/6.45am? Time will be of the essence, so I won't be able to do any detours, too far away from my walking route that goes via Westland Row, Nassau St, Kildare St up to Stephens Green. Cheers.

At that hour, the only thing open would be the McDonald's on Grafton Street.

D Cafe in East Wall is pretty good and fairly cheap; but it has a For Sale sign on it currently.

Centra or spar on Westland Row both open at 6.30, I'd imagine they'd be your best bet for some hot food at that hour in a hurry.

Brendans as mentioned above stands out among the above list . Cowtown and White moose are the hipster equivalents. Those lovely ladies in there know who their customers are and do serious work.

Matt The Rashers. There's one in Kimmage beside Superquinn and one in Clondalkin. If you're afraid of getting a small portion, matts famous breakfast won't disappoint.
3 sausages, 2 rashers, black and white pudding, 2 eggs, mushrooms, beans, tomato, hashbrown, liver, tea and toast. I swap out the liver for something else. Eggs are always cooked to perfection and always fast service.

I love Cowtown. I always make a point (when I am in Dublin for the weekend) of heading there.

Lovinspoon on Frederick Street sounds like what you're looking for OP.

Best value fry I've found in town. €8:50 for the big one, they aren't stingy with portions and you get everything you could possibly want. Mmmm.

Gone seriously down hill in the last few years , instead of putting prices up they keep cutting the quality of the produce. Lost a few key staff members too that were there for years.
Was a first choice for me 5 years ago is only last resort now

A bit far north side but if your over for a match/gig in Croker or something , Twenty 2 on Spion hill is probably doing the best breakfast in Dublin right now.

I know this is an old thread, but the following recommendation might help someone. On the above recommendation we had breakfast in the Lovinspoon. One of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time. Very busy place, always a good sign. If you like you can place your order when you arrive and they will then seat you. Staff were all very pleasant despite being run off their feet. We went for the big breakfast and what a feed we got for €8.50. It consisted off 2 sausages, 2 bacon, black and white pudding, beans, mushrooms, fried egg served on a freshly cooked pancake, fried tomato and 2 toast. Can't remember if the tea/coffee was extra, think it was. It was all freshly cooked and really tasty. Highlight for me was the pancake. Lots of other usual breakfast options available too. Highly recommended.

€8.50 sounds like a bargain for a large breakfast. Also notable that the price hasn't gone up since it was first posted back in 2016.

That's true. Especially with inflation and vat increase. Real value for money.
