Anybody having any issues ordering from the Google Store in UK with Parcel Motel? Trying to get the Google Home Hub for 99 GBP but after successfully completing the order, I get an email 24 hours later saying the order is cancelled due to suspicious activity on the account.

Wondering if it’s just me as I’ve successfully ordered with this method before.

Last two times I've tried to order this way I've gotten the same email... Few others on bargin alerts getting the same also. Looks like they no longer ship to forwarding addresses.

Read a good few reports of similar issues on here. Curry's UK have it for the same price and more surprisingly Littlewoods Ireland have it for a similar price of €115 which includes postage. Was going to purchase from Littlewoods but now mulling over the Lenovo 8" for €150 as the lack of a camera in the hub for video calls could be a bit of a pain.

Ive only ever used address pal - four seperate orders at this point zero issues. Maybe its the less popular.

Got a Logitech harmony elite, and finally I can control my android TV with Google home, it's crazy that this isn't possible without harmony. I also picked up another Google home mini so I could voice control the TV in that room.

Can the camera on that lenovo hub be accessed remotely? Say I got a notification that my smoke alarm had gone off could I use the hub camera to check whether my kitchen was on fire?

I was able to successfully order from both the Google Store and Currys UK this week.

The difference I think is that I used ParcelWizard, but more importantly I used Revolut card. It sounds like some of the issues folks are having is the delivery address not matching your billing address. Using Revolut avoids that.

No, that won't work. Perhaps a Yi Camera for £17 on Amazon would give you that ability for a nice low price.

Thanks for the suggestion, that looks perfect.

Thanks for that. I’ve tried to order it via Currys as well, but after your suggestion that its on Littlewoods for 115 EUR, I’ve gone for it there as well just in case the Curry’s order fails. Will make a nice present for somebody in the family if I do end up with two, so no problems there :D

Anyone recommend a battery powered Google Home speaker? I'm looking for something of the equivalent level of the home mini (and similar price range too) for a bathroom

Funny you should ask that. My daughter brings her mini into the bathroom and uses a powerbank to charge it whilst she's taking a shower.

Anyone here using the Lenovo Smart Display? Can you give an overview of how you're getting on with it and where you purchased it? I can't see it for sale on Amazon.co.uk or on the Irish/UK version of the Lenovo website but Littlewoods Ireland do sell them and currently in their Black Friday sale they have the 8" for €149 and the 10" for €235.

It looks like it could be a better option for me than the Google Home Hub, particularly the 10" version.

You can get a base for the mini that is a battery too - I'm just wondering what else is out there

How do people find sound quality for the mini paired with a bluetooth speaker?

This may have been asked before, but what does a Google home mini offer over using Google assistant on my Phone or the Shield TV?

Saw the mini on sale for 35 and was wondering if it's worth it.

Always on and has a speaker so you can cast to it. Google assistant on a home has a lot more functions and integrations

I use mine everyday for news, weather, background music, podcasts, timer, alarm clock, asking random questions.etc.

You can use it to control chromecast and smart devices like light and plugs if you have them.

Is there any reason not to purchase the Nest Hello for $179 (€160 or so) from the Google US website and have it shipped here via AddressPal for €16 giving a landed cost of €175 Vs the €290 in Currys PC World?

Are the electrical standards or fitting requirements different between the US and here?

When I ask about my commute it describes the approx time, conditions, etc, and it sends the directions to my phone. It used not to do this and only gave traffic conditions and journey time. I don't need the directions by phone. Can I turn off this aspect somehow? In one way, it's handy as the directions might be useful for other journeys, but not a regular commute.

You can just swipe it away.

I'd always have Google maps on for my regular commute, crucial if you're driving in Dublin as it will tell you about delays, crashes and offer alternate routes.

Anybody any problems with Google assistant since most recent update??
My home and mini are working fine but is seems to have erased my voice match on my phone and I can't retrain it.

Mine randomly turned up the volume on the radio this morning...and it didn't miss hear me saying Hey Google as there wasn't a drop in the volume before hand.

I had this issue, I uninstalled updates then updated again and it fixed it.

That's what I would have thought but it doesn't.
