I have a reoccurring alarm for 4:50 am.

Generally Monday to Friday I am up at that time but for the last week I havent been using it for various reasons so turned it off.

The problem is it still sounds at 4:50am! Every day for the last week despite it being off it sounds at 4:50 am.

    Any ideas?

    are you sure its off..
I know I have a same issue the first week...easy way is to put it into nightstand mode and you'll see if the alarm shows up or else set one of the complications to the alarm to check if it shows ..
is it the series 2 by any chance?

When I go into bedtime it says 'get started' so I assume not
