Restoring Windows 10

    Hi,

I've been having an issue with my PC the last week. When I turn it on from sleep it is almost non-responsive and the Start menu doesn't work. When I restart the machine I get a message up saying 'Preparing Security Options' and it just hangs. I end up having to power down manually.

When I reboot it will fail a few times and then on about the third attempt will boot find and be no issues.

I want to the 'Reset this PC' option. According to the MS support page it will reinstall Windows 10.

Question is do I need a Windows key or anything to reactive the OS? Someone here on Boards built the PC for me so I don't have the details like that for Windows 10.

    Thanks.

You'll be grand ... Win8 and Win10 both store the license key within the machine itself. A reinstall will re-activate using this key.
