Nunez obviously showed she has potential but after 207 is Conor the only true megastar the UFC have?

I don't see anybody potential drawing a paying audience like he does atm which should surely help his position with management who clearly haven't rushed to talk to him since he started calling for it. They allowed their client Rousey to do no PR essentially so they seem like they would be willing to bend assuming it's in their financial interest and McGregor regularly in the big bouts would surely be what they want in relation to that.

Brock will be back in a year and will sell another huge PPV so they still have him. But with Rousey a certainty to retire, I'm betting they cave to nearly all GSP's demands. I would wager they start pushing Cody and Gall quite heavily too. Try to turn them into stars.

Man I just want to see him fight.

Feel like the year out with his injury and now this break were missing out on so much!

But he's entitled to the break, he's earned it.

In the long term, and in an indirect way, is it fair to say McGregor is one of, if not the biggest winner from UFC 207?

wonder what happens when conor turns up to his next one and says hes not doing any media? :D

Yeah no one seems to be mentioning this - Ronda was able to get away without ding any media yet Conor only wanted his media duties cut down - strange.

In fairness I think everyone is mentioning it. It's a huge embarrassment for the UFC, this whole past week.

i get your point but nunes has now become the second woman to defend the 135 strap, I think she's matched rouseys nunber of stoppages for women in UFC and everyone knows her now
And Cody, well he's funny, kind and moves like a mongoose
You know what mongooses do to snakes ? Well when he dose that in his next fight he's gonna be huge.
I think Cody v Mighty Mouse (mouse for double ) and nunes v cyborg (assuming she's not banned )(nunes for double) are being planned
The UFC is bigger than Conor and every time someone falls a new star can rise

if cody can beat tj and make a lot of noise doing it then maybe conor has some competition but untill then hes the no.1 guy by a long stretch. as far as nunez is concerned, while she is a fantastic fighter and a great champion, shes never going to have the same widespread appeal ronda or even miesha have enjoyed. sad to say it but looks still plays a huge part in the popularity of female fighters.

With the showboating against cruz. Cody has the potential to be a star.

Could be a potential dual or even triple weight champ. Not con currently. But at 25. He has years of fighting and growth to go 135,145,155.

Steady on there a second horse. He'd be a small 145'er and a midget at 155. Not a hope he could ever make a realistic attempt at the LW title.

Even just stack him up against McGregor, a slightly bigger than average LW. The size reach and weight difference (on fight night) would be massive.

Wouldnt even say hes sure to beat TJ who looked unreal last night.

And thats exactly the same situation conor would be in againsy woodley but people still have being prematurely entertaining it.

Did the tale of the tape not list him at 5.8? At 25 he'd have plenty of time to move to 145.

Sure he didnt knock cruz out. But he never seemed to be in any trouble. I had him winning rounds 1 to 4 and he coasted round 5.

He's already called out tj, and that will most likely be his next fight.

But seeing him fight for the 145 belt this time next year isnt the leap people make it out to be.

I guess those conversations are only entertained if its in regards to mcgregor.

Nobody is making 145 out to be a leap at all I dont think.

145 yes very possible (and probable if he goes on a good run of defences at BW) but you are taking about 155 as well. Not going to happen.

Big difference between Garbrandt and McGregor as well to be fair.

Thing about Mcg is he was a huge FW - A natural LW and he is gonna be a small WW - Cody is an average BW!

i thought that she has no hope being as big as ronda cos she isnt a native English speaker
. are we really saying that ronda was soo popular for her looks, i thought it was the dominance?

Cody is great fun, and taking the piss out of Dominic while doing his stutter steps shows real confidence. he'll go far
