Adding shelves into a wardrobe

Hi,

I've absolutely zero DIY experience. I would like to put shelves into the box room wardrobe for my babys clothes. The whole wardrobe is currently hanging space which is wasted because sleepsuits don't hang up

Is this something I could take on myself or do I need to hire someone? It wouldn't need to be mad pretty, just functional

How wide is the inside of the wardrobe?

Does it have pre-drilled holes to accomadate pegs for shelves?

If it's not an IKEA wardrobe you'll need custom shelves.

Measure the internal width accurately, go to b & q, pick up timber and they will cut it to the correct width for free. They have 18mm conti board, plastic covered chip board, in various depths.

Hardware shops also sell plastic blocks which can be used to support shelves, you will need 4 per shelf. Get screws the correct depth.

no need to drill holes, just hang it on the rack.

Anyone know what I would use to remove these. It looks like an allen key would do it, but there is like a curve in the bottom.

For that type of screw you'll need a Torx or six pointed, star headed screwdriver.

You can pick up sets in most hardwares etc.

Looks more like a "ScruLox" screw or Roberston screw,

Think you need to go to specsavers mate, that's a six pointed star head.

I've been to Specsavers, and it still looks like a scrulox, square rather than hex.

Maybe the OP can let us know the outcome.

Go into Aldi, or Dealz and pick up one of those screwdriver kits with 50 different heads. One of them will work.

Make out your measurements, go to your local b&q they'll cut a sheet of 18mm mdf to your sizes.

Get some shelf supports and away ya go. Cost ya about 50 euro

Any electrical wholesaler will have them, the most common screw size is #8. I can't be sure on size just by looking at a picture.

They're very handy when working overhead. They're also used a lot by electricians.
