Hey,

I'm pretty sure what I'm asking is impossible but worth a shot. I've an old iPhone 4 that is wiped and ready to be set up as a new phone. I have old laptop with an old iPhone 4 restore on its itunes (from an iPhone 4 I had years ago) that I had planned to restore this current iPhone 4 to. However, my old laptop will not recognise the iPhone 4 as a device. I've tried everything online ( Re-installing iTunes, updating drivers etc) and nothing has worked.

I'm wondering is it even possible to somehow transfer the iPhone 4 restore on iTunes on my old laptop to my current laptop that recognises the iPhone no problem?

Hope this makes sense.

Cheers.

I would try and copy the data out of the old laptop and place all the data in the respective folders. I have moved a backup/restore before and it worked.
Find the Search bar: In Windows 7, click Start. In Windows 8, click the magnifying glass in the upper-right corner. In Windows 10, click the Search bar next to the Start button.
[*]In the Search bar, enter %appdata%
[*]Press Return.
[*]Double-click these folders: Apple Computer > MobileSync > Backup.

Thanks, I'll try that.

Did you just transfer the files via usb then connect the phone or?
