Getting a pile of rain here in Cork. Downpours since Friday, but raining non-stop now since yesterday. Over 4 inches in a bucket I had out from Friday till today. Ground getting messy where cattle are sheltering. I'm hoping it will squeeze up quick when/if the rain stops as the ground should be able to take a good sup.

Grass is moving now but still lower covers than I'd like, and haven't much ground fertilized, was too dry last week - now it'll be washed away!

40 mm here since yesterday morning (Tuesday) still heavy showers. I didn't put out fert yet because it'd be washed away.

Not much rain around here. I'd say a total of 30mm over the last week

Same here. Doing a bit of digging today and only an inch from the top of the ground the topsoil is pure powder.

It’s still hard to get the pigtail posts into the ground around here.

Sun shining after all the rain, cattle look like they've been dry cleaned

Have enough now down here. Constant series of intense showers for the last 5 days

Serious rain now. Not much I can do about it so may as well enjoy it.

    98% humidity this morning.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

Some grass growing weather. It'd grow on the back of your hand.

Won't officially be winter until facebook is filled with red top headlines of an impending snowstorm to end all snowstorms, repeat every 6 weeks until May

Soft rain here all day. Started at around 9.15. Glad of the indoor crush for scanning today.

Serious rain here today and turned right windy now. Start of winter turned in 15 autumn calvers as they were miserable outside. Hope to keep younger stock out for a few more weeks

Very windy this morning, but at least it is dry.

Lightening here now with only a 1 second gap to the thunder, most of the bulbs in the house are blown, neighbours house phone blew to bits.

That means your house was struck. Feck.

Hopefully not much else wrong today.

Fair heat put there now. Oilskins on in a heavy shower and near as wet from the sweat

Fcuk sake weather bad for East we get it and bad for West we get it. Some driving rain now, wind sent a sheet flying and damaged a main down pipe the other day I'd say and tank raised a foot or 2

Media going on about climate change and warm weather.

Weather was definitely better on 27th October 2016.

Starting to get sticky here. Massive rain Thursday night/Friday morning. Places were flooded around me and streams over flowing that never over flowed. One man got a call at 3 am to go out with a track machine to try save a house from being flooded. Rain again here this morning. After getting over 100mm since last Sunday evening since 6pm to now.

Some rain after falling today in Cork

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 756 ✭✭✭Silverdream

Rotten weather now for the week ahead. Yes it's mildish but the amount of rain has made a mess of the place. I'm half afraid to go into the field to do the herding now as I'm getting mobbed by cows bawling at me. The grass under them must be next to useless as feed now its so wet.

Early start to the Winter now as this rain has made shite of the ground
