Heavy mist here now, with that wind that drives it in waves across the countryside...

Come from sun with strong wind in Tipp to breezy wet drizzle at home since about 12.30 so I'm told.

Oh was at his cpc course the other day. He went with a lad we know who he buys hay off. He reckons July is going to be a great month with plenty of hay making weather in it. How would anyone know this ?

Back all the horses in the race one of them is going to win.

Listen to all these weather "experts " sooner or later one of them will be right .. and you'll say to yourself how did he know that ?

We brought a bunch of cattle in to dose at 3ish this afternoon. We only had them in the yard when it started to drizzle and it hasn't stopped since. Cool enough too with no sun and a stiff breeze at times.

It's been raining steadily in north Donegal since dawn.

In fact I think it was raining for the guts of 3 days at this stage.

But today the worst. And kids 1st day off school as well. Hopefully not a sign of things to come.

Rain started light about 10 and has been stead all day since, heavy at times.

Neighbors have about 25a down and this is it’s second day getting wet, hope they get it sorted, horrible position to be in.

    Really?

I remember the week you had hay down, we had nearly rain every day that time... We had rain again Tuesday night/ Wednesday morning. Not much, but a bit...

Its good sun we could do with now down here, good bit of rain down as its really the first chance we have had for it...

Got a drop there now but dried up in 10 mins so doesn't count. Drought conditions here the last week or 2. Massive cracks in the fields st the minute

Was it the wettest May in 25 years, and not 4 weeks into a cold enough June and some land is needing rain. There is something wrong somewhere for that to be the case.

    Rains everyday in Leitrim.

A drop of rain in Clare today, lads are happy after putting slurry out. I think we're in for a long enough settled period after this though. Long range forecast on met eireann seem to be going for that into the first couple of weeks of July anyway.

Has June not been a couple of degrees warmer than average?

Its the dry aird conditions thats the issue, the warm windy days with near zero humidity is sucking mositure out of the ground, alot of ground was also topped/silage taken off it in early June so has no ground cover to conserve moisture

It doesn't feel it around here. Tuesday evening was very cold here and there was a morning last week where I had to go for a coat when I was going checking the stock.

Yea we are the same reggie. Small drop on the ground one morning last week and making attempts at it today but not enough to wet the ground.
