    Hey Everybody

    Been a while!

Had the most amazing time in the Caribbean. That ship was unreal. 17 floors of her and so much to do. The hubby wasn't keen on going on a cruise ship and only came as he gets a travel budget from work and we got €€ back!

He is already looking at the next one! We went to the aqua show, which was like cirque du soleil in water with diver/acrobats and was fab, then we did the broadway show of Mamma Mia on the second night. Went to three ice shows which were Monopoly, How to Train your Dragon and I can't think the last one.

Food was everywhere and every sort of cuisine you could think. There was the Windjammer restaurant which was buffet style and had so much choice which was topped up as it ran out. There was a Johnny Rockets which is the original Eddie Rockets and a carbon copy of what you get in Ireland. Hot dog joints, donut places, you name it! the 10lbs I put on in two weeks was well bought and paid for :D

ZIp lines, rock climbing, pools, cinema, and the casino where the hubby went a couple of evenings when myself and the little one fell into bed.

Much cheaper than a package holiday as you just don't spend on the boat!

But one of the best things was sleeping with our balcony door open, curtains pulled and falling asleep listening to the water. Was absolute bliss.

The Allure of the Seas was great, but we looking at the Symphony of the Seas for the next one. It is in Europe right now and moves to Miami at the end of the year or early next year. She is only a few months old as is currently the largest Cruise ship in the world. She is an Oasis Class ship with Royal Caribbean and so is the Allure. She is slightly bigger with a few extra features but mostly the same as the Allure.

The hubby told his boss he was going to play poker for a living on a ship as he could make a fortune. A guy at the tables in the casino does that and just stays on the shop full time and takes money off the drunk American's with way too much cash!

There ya go Mick, a change of scenery for poker for ya!

I also loved the cruise we did around the Greek Isles with RC. I loved waking up in a new port every day and we saw so much more in 7 days than we could ever see with a normal holiday. I'm a terrible sea traveller but I barely felt the sea at all on the ship. I'd love to go on another one but Mr Molly was less enamoured.

You sound like a walking advertisement for the cruise line though. :pac: It is amazing but it's no way cheaper than a package holiday. Unless you get a totally all inclusive package with drinks and internet included it can end up really expensive. And the specialty restaurants aren't included in the cruise package. And excursions are another (optional) extra.

My folks use to have a dog called Pat. Took a while for people to realise what it meant.

I mean I'm over it at this stage but I just hope that duffman doesn't see the thread. He will be absolutely heartbroken.

BJ and flushy too. They should have been the first two to have dogs named after them.

I have done a sum total of about zero cycling this year. I reckon I have about... 40km done. Tomorrow I am doing the test Dublin bike ride because I promised my cousin I would and she flew over from the UK and now I am scared.

Worst prepared cycle ever for me. I have the sniffles. I have an unidentifiable virus. I have zero fitness.

If I don’t post some at some stage tomorrow evening, send help.

You could have 2 puppies called Necrominus and Necremus, and breast feed them in public as often as you can, nodding to strangers while reading a book about Roman history, then drop the book and scream "Dear lord no! I'm doing it backwards!"

dunno if i'm reading it wrong, but i think the 'cough' was more about not being included in the names that would be absolutely heartbroken for not having a cute puppy named after them than how any of the other names listed would be inappropiate dog names.

maybe i read it all wrong though.

We didn't bother with speciality, no reason as the food was great that was free! we also didn't pay for any excursion. I was on a cruise years ago and did my own thing as well. We looked at the 2 days in Miami, and trust me, it was way cheaper to cruise the Caribbean than to pay as you go. If you looked at every time you put your hand in your pocket, it all adds up. I have done package style every year and when you have kids, this was far more economical.

the $34 a day for drinks and internet was well worth it. One cocktail in Miami was $14! so the package was a steal. We had totally all inclusive as we got the deluxe package with Voom. I did hear Med cruises work out more expensive that US.

We paid 3k for our flights and cruise and then a further 740 to make it all inclusive with internet. If you were to book a package holiday for 2 adults and 1 child and then price up lunch and dinner and excursions and snacks etc I think you would be hard pushed to beat just over 1k per person all in? we were away for 2 weeks and it was £4k for everything, including presents, Miami, hotels, trains and flight from Malta to Scotland.

Plus we only stopped 3 times and I loved the sea days as there was so much on the ship! which one where you on?

I'm trying to remember. I think it was Jewel of the Seas. Lovely ship and the food was incredible. The evening shows were kinda crap though and the cinema was always bunged so we could never get in. We only did one of the speciality restaurants and it was fine but not worth the extra 30 dollars each we had to pay.
I think it worked out at about 4.5k for the 2 of us for a 9 night cruise. We didn't take the drinks/internet package coz we don't drink that much and we did a lot of excursions.

Kids obviously change the price of stuff but we found the ship super expensive. And that was even with us stealing food from the breakfast buffet to have for lunch every day. Lol. Worked a treat. We specifically picked that cruise as it had a ton of stops (I've no sea legs at all) and we saw so much on that one trip it definitely saved us money compared to doing them all seperately. As I said, I'd go again but I'm not sure Mr Molly would.

Ah, the Oasis class ships are totally different. We made lunch in the morning and took off the ship too. And The Med is obv way more expensive than US We had a cabin that sleeps 4 with the larger balcony as well. So I guess that is why you think a package holiday is cheaper as you did the Med.

With Virgin Atlantic doing round trips to the US for £300 you would be hard pushed to get a cheaper deal with any cruise company in the Med that doesn't make the longer flight worthwhile. SHow Mr Molly the Allure and look at the prices you can get those cruises for. He may be more than up for it. The entertainment was brilliant. I didn't go to the comedian puppet guy Ronn Lucas, but the hubby and kid did and loved it.
