Enjoy Munich. If you get a chance you should travel down to Fussen to visit Newschwanstein. It's INSANE.

And no, my week has been pretty ****ty so I'm just relieved it's over. Very very relieved.

    Oooh... to the Google machine!

We've already booked a tour to Dachau and the Eagle's Nest - morbid interests, but then again I play a game where we ritually lynch a player each night/kill them if we're wolves so...

I am in Portugal. We’re staying in a tiny fishing village about 20 mins south of Porto. The 15th August is a major public holiday in Portugal, and this sleepy village was chaotically busy for it because all of the locals had the day off work. It was pretty cool.

Since then I have discovered that the village hosts a festival every August, for the weekend after the festival, and it is in full swing. There is a stage set up, there are market stalls, food stalls, fairground rides... and there will be live music, fireworks and a parade. Every night. There’s lights up everywhere - think Grafton Street at Christmas. I just went for an after dinner stroll and the place is mad. There’s a cocktail bar set up outside the church.

I don’t recall having enjoyed a holiday as much. Porto is an absolutely stunning city. Far more beautiful than I could have imagined. The air bnb we rented has a bike. There’s about a 20km stretch of cycle path, alongside a beach boardwalk, with cafes every few hundred yards. I have cycled, walked, ate, drank... one of the bars where we are staying (there are only 3) you can get a beer for €1. There are 4 restaurants and the food is exceptional in each. There’s a supermarket where the fruit is so unbelievable that it could be from a cookbook.

    Feeling very relaxed and chilled.

Dachau was incredibly moving. Had a lump in my throat the whole day we were there. We took our time going around and it took most of the day even though there's not much to see. I highly recommend the audio guides. They have actual testimony from people who were there and the soldiers who liberated it. It made it even more real and horrifying.

We would've went to Neuremberg but it was just a bit too far away and we didn't have much time.

When I was young it was a pretty big celebration as well, we used to have sports events. Anybody else do that?

Fine, I accept you did it, but thinking others did too? That's an assumption

( timely religious feast day pun. You're welcome.)

Feasts are celebrated all over Europe. We have the festa's travelling from town to town throughout the summer. Four days of fun, music and drink and then the fireworks. Going to the Sliema festa tonight to watch the Fireworks, they were fab.

We were off on Wednesday for that Feast day, so many public holidays here, it is unreal!

Necro asked me to post this on his behalf, presumably because he finished it before he tried to post the pic, and therefore was too drunk to resize it :D

Enjoying the Augustiner Brauhaus? I found it much nicer than the Hofbrauhaus. Still didn't like the beer though.

Oh yes! the drink and internet package were the first thing we sorted. Least all the food is included! going on the Allure of the Seas. 2nd or 3rd largest cruise ship in the world.

The cocktails were about $12 and a beer $7. Diet coke $3.50. Would seem silly to not get a drink package where we are spending $30 a day and it is unlimited.

We got a combined rate of $38 a day, it was on sale one of the days. We got the little one an internet package and that is $72 for the 8 days. Also looking forward to the two and a half days in Miami south beach after the cruise!

Yeah, it's very good. I'm only on Season 2 atm, so no spoilers beyond that. Yer man isn't at all bad, I agree.
