Carers Allowance and Returning to Work

Apologies if someone has posted the same query, I've searched the forum but can't find it. I've been in receipt of carer's allowance for several years, looking after my daughter. I am eager to return to the workforce but the job I'm applying for is for 20 hours p/w which is over the 15 hours a week threshold. How easy is it to transfer the carer's allowance to my out of work husband. Will he have to apply for carers from scratch or is it simply a matter of transferring.

Hopefully it should be easy enough, as you've already established that your daughter needs full-time care. I would imagine that your husband will need to fill out all the forms and apply officially though. He might want to do that this side of Christmas to ensure he qualifies for the Carer's Support Grant in 2017. Good luck!
