A great first intermediate from him. Hopefully he can keep it going and set a really respectable time.

There's a lot of riders here that I have never heard of. Out of the 69 starters, I think I only recognise about 33 names

Lampaert, who is the closest challenger on the course to Mullen, is starting to fade. Virtual 15 sec behind at the halfway point.

Eddie Boasson Hagen looks like the Michelin man :D:D

    Everyone has started.

11 riders still have to reach Intermediate Check #1.

Ryan Mullen still has the quickest time at that time point.

theres a Pakistani rider in this, never knew Pakistan had any riders at this level (even if hes 15 minutes down on mullen)

Dennis is ~3 sec SLOWER than Mullen at time check #1.
Dumoulin is ~14 sec SLOWER than Mullen at time check #1.
Kiryienka is ~5 sec FASTER than Mullen at time check #1

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,573 ✭✭✭pajor

Kiriyenka slower than Martin but faster than Mullen at 1st time check.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,263 ✭✭✭robyntmorton

I think the fact that the big guns are only getting small margins over Mullen is testament to the quality of Ryan's time. Could be very close to the end, but medalling, and possibly the rainbow jersey is not beyond him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,102 ✭✭✭afatbollix

I think I can guess what he said when Ryan watched himself of him going over the line.

So everyone has gone through Intermediate Check #1 and Mullen has the third fastest time...

... starting to bite nails... sitting at the edge of the seat...

Looking at his start number, I think he was expected to do okay, but not exactly be a challenger. That may not be the case in the future!

    Go on Ryan boy!

Not that he can do anything now but sit in a chair but you know what I mean.
