Have them here. The ewes make excellent mother's and have plenty of milk. The lambs come into good weights but are leaner than the traditional breeds

They're considered a dual breed milk and meat. Very leggy and throw black lambs.

I'm chancing a couple zwartble cross hoggets this year. They're supposed to be good for milk and prolific and when I've only about 20 ewes it's worth experimenting with something different .
I'm not sure what the mothers are but I'd be thinking they're not far from horny breeding. I'm crossing to a charolais ram.
I like the look of the purebred ewes and if the crossbreds go well I might try the purebred ewes again to the charolaois or whatever ram I have at the time.

Only thing that puts me off them is the fleece. Is black wool worth anything ? Not that white wools worth much more this year either

It's worth nothing. Also it's very hard to spot maggots in the fleece until there's a bif nest of maggot's
