Rugby hero Paul O'Connell and Game of Thrones actor Liam Cunningham will join Ryan Tubridy on The Late Late Show this week.

Limerick legend O'Connell will chat about what life is like now that he has hung up his boots. He'll be giving viewers his take on the Irish team that reached new heights with a Grand Slam and back-to-back Six Nations titles and where the inspirational team talks he is famous for come from. Plus he'll be telling viewers about the time he felt like knocking out Alastair Campbell.

Game of Thrones star Liam Cunningham recently visited the Syrian refugee camps in Jordan. He joins Ryan in studio to talk about what he saw, why he's angry about it and what he thinks the Irish Government - and the Irish people - should be doing to help.

Ireland's very own Queen of Fashion, Pippa O'Connor will help three eager volunteers revamp their winter wardrobe live on air.

Smalltown star Pat Shortt will be in studio to chat about his new film 'The Flag', an irreverent take on 1916, and delving into the archives to find some hidden gems in his upcoming TV show.

We'll also catch up with writer and raconteur Michael Harding.

    and

It has been 30 years since 13-year-old schoolboy Philip Cairns vanished. On Friday night, Prime Time's Barry Cummins will talk viewers through Philip's case alongside the cases of some of Ireland's most high profile missing persons from Annie McCarrick to Esra Uyrun and the families of Deirdre Jacob and Trevor Deely will be in studio to tell their stories.

All that and music from The Three Amigos, Nickelback and Mick Flannery.

Only on The Late Late Show, RTÉ One this Friday at 9.35pm

This is a funny rant about Nickelback, he starts to lose it around the 9 minute mark.

I know nowt about soccer, as I was never there before and I was in sole charge of a 9year old, i was kept amused by people watching. Fun experience I must say.
My only observations re the game is that I dislike this defensive play that seems to purely concentrate on stopping the other team scoring. When the ball goes Upto forwards there us noone there and they fail to do anything worthwhile with it.
Also I help supervise u7s (gaa) and we keep telling them to stay in their positions. Neither team last night stayed in their positions.
Suspect I'm just not a soccer person.

Its what always distinguished the late late from the pretenders to its throne, its seamless mixture of light hearted, rolling in the aisles entertainment and wrist slitting, bleakness.

I always consider these people are involved in some kind of a racket the sheite they talk about style, art, fashion, general waffle, nobody every challenges them to say the actual outfit they have chosen is in bits.

Pippa has turned into a mummy bore. I couldn't give two fiddlers about the kids

Its their middle of the road, radio friendly blandness ala coldplay that annoys me. I'd rather listen to a genre of music I hate that does their own thing.
