Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What's the story there? Is is some kind of U.S. scrappage scheme?

One of the replies on the page suggests this:
The cars are "test mules" or pre-production vehicles used my manufacturers to test all the systems designs before production. The film was created in 2010 by BMW to showcase their recycling of these cars before being ultimately crushed.

To provide more context. Test mules are essentially R&D vehicles. They have to be crushed to comply with tax laws surrounding R&D investment.

Looked like very clean engine oil being drained out. There is a link in one of the comments though

I still wouldn't mind swopping my 11 year old car for one.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

It's still a waste, light , tyre , wheel etc etc, could be sent back to the production line and be reused, so much for recycling....
