Random.... wonder if it's just the qualifiers or the whole tournament in the one show

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,452 ✭✭✭johnnyryan89

Always thought they'd use it as a Network special like the CWC.

Love Ziggler’s new post-match gimmick. It’s cheap comedy but it works.

Yea, that was gold, still talking into the mic during the skull crushing finale

Agree, he's a joke these days so props to him for leaning into it. It's pretty funny.

The king of the ring winner should get a title shot

So many possibilities of who could win it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,728 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Jesus what was the point of that ??

King Baron to win it and become champ.

Good match between Drew and Cedric but had they waited a week they could have used it in the KOTR when winning would have meant more.

Haha they had months to plan Sasha's return and came up with interrupting Jim Neidhart's anniversary mass. What a company

Think Sasha's return could have been done better but Banks vs Becky is exactly what is needed right now.
Both for Sasha too matter again and for Becky to have a worthy opponent.

Now if this could lead to a 4 Horsewomen match down the line I'm all for it.

Do you know what's not needed. Cole saying these lines word for word last night when Sasha's music hit.

''Oh my.... could it be? It is!

    It's Boss Time!''

Her match with Becky at NXT Unstoppable was first sign that Becky could be a huge star for women's division.

It was the Oh My??? that got me, I despise his commentary, he must have some amount of dirt on the company to still be in that job.

Agreed that Becky vs Sasha is brilliant for both. Sasha is a genuine threat to Becky, and can play the out-and-out heel too, unlike Lacey and Nattie who only ever felt like cannon fodder.

Seth vs Braun (vs Richochet?) should be a grand feud, and is somewhat fresh at the top of the card.

Felt the show moved to give a few newer feuds, which is good.

She can play the heel but it won't take, similar to Becky at this time last year. Maybe that's what they're doing, trying to catch that lightning in a bottle again.

I think up against Becky, she can run the heel role.

Becky is cheered against everyone. Give Sasha some promo time, let Becky and her have a proper war of words, and I bet they'll have everyone on Becky's side.

She was getting "Thank you Sasha" chants while beating Becky with the chair. Although Toronto were being contrary all weekend.

I hope they don't force heel/face. Have them bitch at and insult each other for the feud. Let the fans decide.

I guess the issue is that I don't necessarily believe a "good heel" is defined by initial crowd reactions.

For one, her return was a surprise, and she was showing backbone and attitude, which is ALWAYS going to get that sort of cheers in her first segment back.

I think next week, when she comes out and cuts a promo explaining her new attitude, attacking the audience and so on, that will end the positive chants in her direction. Especially once the dust settles and it becomes clear that Becky is the "hero" of the story (she ran in to make the save last night, afterall).

Sasha is at her best when she's let heel things up, and with Becky, she has the perfect foil to go full "boss mode". By their match at the PPV, she'll be getting booed no problems against Becky.

At worst, she'll be a heel who gets some semblence of cheers, but at the end of the day, I'd rather have a heel who gets the crowd engaged in their feud, than a heel like Corbin or Lacey that drives people away from it.

Sami talking about Seth and Becky was spot on.

I could give a fcuk about either of them now they have become so manufactured by the WWE.

Cool to see the King of the Ring back, love a good tournament in wrestling. Hopefully it runs for a few weeks and the outcome actually means something for once.

Have always thought I'd like to see a G1 block style tournament in WWE, they certainly have the roster depth to do it. Simple booking that could fill up some of the typically dead months pre and post Summerslam, doesn't seem to be their thing though unfortunately.

main reason I don't watch much anymore.

    He ruins everything, presentation matters.

I'm sure he's convinced that his "Oh my!" is up there with the great wrestling catchphrases.

Cedric/Drew was a great match. Should've been saved for a later round in the KOTR next week.

So I see Sasha is back and it seems from the clip I’ve seen she can’t hit a person in the back with a chair when standing over them. It looks like she clipped Becky in the head on the first chair shot. I mean how clumsy can one wrestler be to both themselves and others.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,244 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

I do hope the KotR winner is someone who can use it as a gimmick and can actually get somewhere with it. Don't just waste it on someone like Drew or any of the others who get enough tv and mic time as it is.
I did notice no King of Harts in the video.

Toronto is Bizarro land combined with a surprise return, of course Becky is getting cheered. Though attacking Nattie is pretty much just going to get "Thank you Sasha" chants. If she's going to be heel, she'll have to be careful not to say things the fans agree with. I'm sure she'll bring up the tag titles, but if she can vent like Sami she'll be doing well. He talks the truth but it all sounds so spiteful from him.

Just in case anyone doubted Dolph's inspiration, the "flesh wound" remark kind of confirmed it. Now if he could only find a coconut-laden African swallow.

So Ricochet/Braun tag team? Expected a tag team to help Seth.

Surprised they didn't mention Roman at all.

What was with that video of Paige. Did she have a load of filters on in bad lighting? The ones she didn't want other people to see were far better quality.

Wonder how USA felt about promoting Fox.

    Long live King Buddy!

Roman is the Mesut Ozil/Sead Kolasinac of the WWE right now

The absolute last thing Sasha should be doing is taking character tips from Sami Zayn. He came back from a year injury and did weeks of "You people..." promos to absolute silence. He has won one match since coming back. He's a joke character used as a vehicle for Vince to vent with.

Do character work. Lean super hard into The Boss stuff. Don't do that low percentage stuff that a super-niche part of the internet eats up.

The Sami comparison was just that if she starts into the reason for her absence that what she says doesn't sound like what fans feel and if she does say what they think, that she can come across as a heel while saying it. Personally, I think she should just concentrate on her feud and not reference her time off or the fans.
