If they really wanted to make a statement they would have stripped Brock Lesner.

    That’s not PG!

Well that was vague as hell. And the one thing the whole wwe universe didn’t want was another 20 minutes of Baron Corbin.

Feels like they have no real plan of what they want to do, they just blamed the GM’s on the shows being crap and said they are back to save them. Of course the more educated of us will know that they are behind the scenes controlling everything anyway so having them on screen too is just the worst idea.

Finn getting the jobber entrance against Ziggler.

Say all you need to know about Finn in the WWE.

I mean, Finn, Ziggler and McIntyre?

    Haven't we seen this already?

    Shocker.

    Bring back Russo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,545 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

So Heavy Machinery, EC3, Nikki Cross, Lars Sullivan (shocker!) and yer wan are the “new faces” they speak of.

That’ll put butts in seats. Can’t wait to see how they ruin EC3 all over again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 894 ✭✭✭cian68

I'm sure EC3 will find a way to take care of that himself

Honestly this is the last time i watch wwe live as I normally wizz through the ads when i have it recorded. No wonder ratings are low, I chose to go to bed even when I’m not tired.

I hope they are having a laugh and showing us a condensed version of what’s shít about wwe so that we have a good comparison for when the new era starts very soon.

If Lesnar remains Universal Champion and Rhonda never loses, the fans will never accept that anything has changed. CM Punk highlighted this downfall and they didn’t listen.

This is my first (and last) time watching live. The adverts are ridiculous.

And is that Simon Miller doing the voiceover at the ads?

    Utter nonsense.

Nothing will change. They're just using the ratings as a storyline. They don't have to change. The company is pretty much richer than ever and is secure for the future.

All they'll do is maybe bring up more NXT guys to get some new matches.
    They'll still do 50-50 booking.
    They'll still script promos heavily.
Vince will still get behind the guys he wants to.

    Nothing meaningful will actually change.

I really, really do hope THE ELITE stay away from the constantly burning dumpster fire that is present day WWE. They'd be ruined.

    Man, I hated this.

    So, the opening segment.

Vince comes out, and they spend 6 minutes on entrances of the McMahon family, who are faces now, I guess.
They say they are going to start giving the fans what they want (congratulations, you've just realized the basics of marketing a product).
What they want is, apparently, a 15 minute promo between the McMahons and Baron Corbin, followed by a re-do of a PPV segment last night.

A promise of fresh faces....which seems to be a collection of the B list people from NXT that Hunter is willing to part with, as opposed to any proper stars.

Revival getting a push is good.

A main event to lead towards a filler title match next week though, and on a pre-taped show (which is another issue too; any momentum this show was ever going to build was going to die again next week).

Seems Tyler Breeze is just going to wait for open challenges now, after answering Ricochet's last week and Dean's this week.

And I've said before, but why advertise returns and debuts? They said new faces will appear so that should be enough. By saying who they are ruins the surprise and may even damage the appearance. Like I'm not a big Lacey Evans fan, but I guess out of all the women on NXT that aren't injured or involved in storylines, she was one of the few to choose from. Bianca and Kairi are other options.
Now the question is who will be buried the quickest?

So how do open challenges work again? Why do we never seeing the men all answering at once like all the women apparently did?
Guess we should be thankful Nia wasn't involved, though I'm guessing that's more to do with it being a filler match than it is to do with giving the fans what they want.

They say changes are coming to Smackdown as well. Hope that means giving Sanity a role and putting Nikki there instead of on Raw.

Those call-ups are a little rough, I can already see the majority of them being the hot commodity for a week before disappearing from tv like 90% of the call-ups.

I hope Heavy Machinery do well. I find Otis very entertaining.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

There is an irony when Vince said that WWE changes with the times when having Vince, Stephanie, HHH & Shane in the ring in the role of authority which is the same as it was around 20 years ago.
NXT talent often flounder when they come up but they ain't exactly achieving much as a developmental brand if some are clearly tentative about letting their main talent up to the WWE roster.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,301 ✭✭✭✭gerrybbadd

I genuinely hope when the XFL kicks off, Vince will have less to do with the WWE. He's ruined it, and this constant re-hashing of stuff to try to "shake things up" is trash.

I don't want to see the Authority. Jesus, gimme back the glory days of Bischoff & Heyman as GMs (Even Teddy for crying out loud).

    Stop scripting promos so heavily.

Get rid of gimmick PPVs - use the gimmick matches for proper feuds.

I've almost entirely stopped watching WWE now. I've no interest even in the PPV's, which were the last thing to keep me hanging on. I'll catch the results on reddit or here the morning after, that does me.

Thank God for NXT, that's all I'll say

Did they record next weeks raw after this weeks?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,077 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

They must have since google gave back links to WWE Christmas Eve results. I didn't click into them, even though I'm sure nothing too exciting will happen on the episode. Can't exactly see it being Ronda's first loss

I've seen spoilers for next week, so I think they have

It was a boring 30 second read never mind a 3 hour tv show.
