I looks forward to see what kinda cool new affordable cars they start to build.

But on a serious note the world can't drag their heels on this there needs to be immediate action against the Philippines. 3000 people dead already, If you don't think of that as a number but think of each number as a person then it really is a horrible crime against humanity.

I hope the UN don't add this to their list of regrets on things they didn't act fast enough on.

If Germany had Hitler, the Philippines would have..., he said, pausing and pointing to himself.

Hitler massacred three million Jews ... there s three million drug addicts. There are. I d be happy to slaughter them.

    Franco
    Figueiredo
    Banzer
    Mandez
    Contras

Why would we? This thread is about Hitler & Hitler likes. But if making a list of communists the West supported & it makes you happy go nuts.

So you felt it was a good opportunity to get some off topic political point scoring in. Nice.

His approach is eventually gonna bite him in the ass, its all well and good thinking shoot all the druggies but once you reach a point the smarter ones begin arming themselves and fighting back. Not to mention what happens when innocent people get caught up in it too its a recipe for civil war.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,117 ✭✭✭✭Junkyard Tom

I'll say one thing about Duterte, he's got a talent for diplomacy:
On being stuck in a traffic jam during a papal visit to Manila:
“Pope, son of a whore, go home. Don’t visit any more.”

On Singapore’s execution of a Filipina maid:
“F**k you…You are a garrison pretending to be a country.”

In response to a question about human-rights abuses:
“**** you, UN, you can’t even solve the Middle East carnage…shut up all of you.”

On the killing of a Filipino journalist:
“Just because you’re a journalist, you are not exempted from assassination if you’re a son of a bitch.”

Yeah becaus the world needs more corruption.

    Send them to jail.

Duterte's death squads are mostly in the pockets of the major drug barons, so in a lot of cases they are just wiping out the competition. These methods do not make for a stable democracy.

Plus, a lot of innocent people get killed too. It's an insane 'policy'.

Its very much on topic political point scoring that you seem very jealous about. You a former fascist dictator in a previous life or something?

But go on name me all these communist dictators that the west supported? Was one of them the dictator of Narnia?

it's incredible to see people agree with his approach, here and on other websites.

in-f**king-credible that people would advocate not only a death penalty for being addicted to drugs, which is mainly a socio-economic issue, but to be executed without any trial.

I'd like to think that comments in support is just anonymous Internet bravado, but I do worry about the few that are serious. Mind you, give them the gun and tell them to pull the trigger and see how hard they are.

Sure alcohol is a drug to some, as is gambling. Why not extend it to those groups too.

If the UN want to go in there the Filipinos will slaughter them as well...Duterte is loved by his people (and most of the world).

Even better - in the thread title.

It's actually called a "Reverse Godwin", a classic case.

Rather than starting the discussion on somehting completely unrelated and reverting towards Hitler, you start with Hitler and discussion tends to revert away to other things, as we are seeing here..... A textbook Reverse Godwin being executed

While i dont agree with his methods simply targeting dealers doesnt fix drug problems.

Addicts create a demand for a product and regardless of how dangerous it is for dealers they will always exist if there is a demand. Money is a great motivator.

Targeting addicts removes the demand and in turn removes the dealers.

Bring this guy to dublin for a year or two.

I don't think people think true the ramifications of such a policy. Example being, If you disliked your neighbour you could literally plant drugs in his house and have him shot. No doubt it's a free for all and people will be wrongfully executed.
