Edge has revealed that THIS Friday on SmackDown against Sheamus in Toronto is his last match on his current WWE contract:

Here's what I can honestly say, and this isn't the answer everyone wants. I truly don't know. I really really, with 100% truth can say I don't know. That's strange for me, but I don't. I really don't. I've put some thought into it, but not a lot. This is the last match on my current contract. I don't know. I honestly don't know. I probably won't know until I get to the locker room that night and decompress, let all the anxiety and tension that I never used to have before I performed, I have now. That's strange for me and makes it that much harder to do this. I'm going to be 50 in October. It's not easy anymore. Before, what I used to take for granted to be able to do, now, there is a process and a fallout. There's a lot. It's the dream gig, but it's getting really hard.” (ET Canada)

I thought Edge and Sheamus delivered a ppv worthy 5 star match, both still great in the ring

They could have given Damage Ctrl the win

hard to believe Edge is going to be 50

Tony would def open his cheque book for him if Adam Copeland is intrested

Would he be allowed use 'Edge' in another Wrestling company ?

Maybe a tribute episode tomorrow night

Say the locker room is just as shocked as all us fans

It's pretty much being confirmed it's gonna be a tribute episode. All advertised matches have been scrapped.

I’d guess it will be like the Eddie and Benoit ones. A few matches, maybe, but heavy on clips and tributes from those who want to make them.

he wasn't juiced to the gills like the other two apparently

His biggest feuds were with Bryan, Cena and Orton imho but will they be talking as all injured plus one in AEW?

Cody (his Nxt pro) and Braun are scheduled for Smackdown tonight

Thought Braun was injured as well.

Not a surprise how every superstar has tweeted how much of a nice guy he was to them and how close many of them seemed to be to him it would be very difficult to stick to a storyline tonight.

I just assumed that's why we haven't seen him. Google tells me he had neck vertebrae fusion surgery in June.

I forgot about Braun after the draft tbh, he moved to Raw with Riccochet, sounds very serious surgery

It would be cool if they got Redbeard there to do something with Braun as a tribute, but I'm guessing he's probably in no state for it.

    Maybe an Alexa appearance?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,349 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

A few things they could do include showing one of his cheerful goodbyes from the Funhouse at the end of the show or end of a video package. Show an empty funhouse, maybe with the puppets lifeless. Have his mask hanging in the Funhouse or lying in the ring.

I'm sure they'll have at least one lantern entrance. Maybe as a final sendoff, everyone coming out following a lantern carrier. Maybe Bo/Captain Howdy?

Of course it could be too soon for Bo or IRS to be there. They may want to be part of the tribute show but also want to be with their family.

    Is Bo still with WWE?

well that opening was both a wonderful tribute and unbelievable sad.

I'd say its tough for Eric Rowan to be standing one a stage again mourning one of his friends.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 92,178 ✭✭✭✭JP Liz V1

I'm glad Erick is there though, very sad emotional opening, Braun and Erick look broken 😢

I find it strange hearing his real name Windham

Not a very hardcore tag match

LA Knight was Bray's final opponent and Finn Balor was The Fiend's first opponent

Yeah that was a strange choice.

Thought LA Knight did fantastic job with his promo, especially one that was that tricky. That he managed to stay in kayfabe, pay tribute to Bray, respond to Miz and then end it with a threat/tribute was really impressive.

Thought it was a tastefully done tribute, especially the opening and closing of the show. Really speaks to some of the memorable imagery Bray left behind. Having Cody do a Funk tribute was a good touch too.
