He'll thanking Grosjean for making absolutely sure of it!

Also, Kylie should be at every Grand Prix

Good looking grid but a shame to see Mercedes half a second quicker around one of their traditionally poorer tracks. Hopefully Ricciardo can get Rosberg off the line otherwise the Mercedes will prance off into the distance.

On another note.. never get tired of seeing the aerial shots of the track with the Singapore city skyline in the background.

Any race that doesn't have Hamilton on the front row is a good day.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,904 ✭✭✭✭skipper_G

That was an incredible lap from Rosberg. I am pleased as punch. And even better because of Ricciardo beating Hamilton. Also nice job for Force India getting both cars in the top 10. Fingers crossed for a clean race for them and get back in front of Williams

Rosberg has always being good at Singapore.

If he wins tomorrow as I expect him to, he has the momentum and well on the road to be the 2016 WDC.

Hopefully not, can't stand his smugness. I'd much prefer if Jensen won :D

Brilliant lap from rosberg, unless he gets a bad start it's race over after turn 1.
Love to see ricciardo get the win, and as usual kimi messed up a good chance to get p2/p3.

Shame about the sponsors putting up a horrible AR* clock on the Big Wheel

*Augmented Reality I'm aware you can only see it on TV.

    This too shall pass.

I see Perez gets 8 place penalty for not slowing enough for double waved yellows.

Ricciardo set his P2 time on the Super Softs so will have a tyre advantage on the Mercedes at the start of the race

So imagine there's a safety car at the start. The rest of the top 10 could put for super soft but need won't want to give up track position to red Bull. That could leave them at a big disadvantage on ultra softs with the rest of the top 10 on supers.

I have to think Mercedes are banking on a clean start where they can pull away from Red Bull and make the tyres last longer than the 4st of the top 10 on ultras. That way they can pit without getting held up in traffic
Could be an interesting first few laps

Short of an incident on the first lap, this is going to be a complete Rosberg led snooze fest. Nico will sail off into the distance. Lewis will be stuck behind Ricciardo for ages, getting passed him eventually but being way too far behind Nico to catch him. Ricciardo will have a good race, but will probably be caught by Kimi at some point.

If Lewis scores lower than 2nd, & Nico wins, I reckon that's the title lined up for Nico this year.

Keep in mind that Lewis is on softer tyres than Ricciardo which gives him an events chance of beating him into turn 1 (****ty start not withstanding).

Lewis is having a lul since the summer break but this weekend is the first time it was actually his fault. I'd still bet on Lewis winning the title.

I mentioned it before that there's a few 'Nico' tracks coming up, and Singapore is definitely one of them. For whatever reason, Lewis doesn't tend to go well here so I fully expect Nico to convert the pole to a win, & for Lewis to scrape second if he's lucky (first corner incidents being his biggest concern). Mexico last year didn't go his way either, so Nico can get pretty comfortable over the next couple of races if he plays his cards right.

    Which tracks are Nico tracks?

Singapore namely fro the ones that are left, & he went very well at Mexico last year too. He also won the Brazilian & Abu Dhabi races last season too...so while nothing is set in stone, I think he has a strong chance to take the WDC this year.

He has a strong chance alright but I still think it takes Lewis having an off day or a mechanical problem for him to win each race. If the gremlins move over to Nico's side of the garage like the end of 2014 season, then it's game over.

Black flag Bottas, fine Williams. Have to something about unsafe releases.

I always maintain that it's completely unfair on the driver. His view is completely hampered in the box. That's 100% Williams' fault.

Touch, only way to do it. He's getting nothing from this race anyway.

Also a black and orange for that bit of loose bodywork. If that's the threshold from now on it'll be some laugh.

No further action on the unsafe release.

    What?
