    Hi all,

So, made the big and long overdue decision after my holiday to shed the weight that I have put on over the last 3 years.

Anyway, have been going to a personal trainer 3 times a week since the last week in August, and have been minding my diet - few slip ups to be honest, I am not angel - and I have dropped half stone so far - is this reasonable or should i be loosing more????

    Thanks all.

A healthy weight loss is around 1-2lb per week so I would say it's perfect.

In my experience, weight loss that takes place over a long period of time is more sustainable than weight that is lost very quickly.

You're doing it the healthy way so keep going and you'll reach your goals in no time :)

Well done by the way...half a stone is a LOT of weight to lose and not easy to do so be proud.

Thank you BetsyEllen - i have about 3.5 stone to loose in total so i feel that i am at the bottom of a very big mountain with a lot of work ahead of me! I suppose I was comparing it to my last slimming world attempt - where i lost 8 lbs in the first week!!! (granted i barely lost anything in the next few weeks after that!!).

Whether you could have lost more isn't the point. Whether the changes you've made are sustainable, which is what you seem to be trying to do, is what's important.

You could have lost more but you could also have bounced back after a couple of weeks.

Adherence is king. Make plans for your exercise when you no longer go to a PT.

And well done on your loss thus far. Keep up the good work!
