I was browsing Oxfam for a night time read and came across this, have read several Irving novels many years ago - though at 450 pages, this one looked weighty. I was browsing Oxfam for a night time read and came across this, have read several Irving novels many years ago - though at 450 pages, this one looked weighty.
In the fly page was written - started reading Oct 12 finished Nov 28 (or similar)and underneath that
Pure utter ****e.
I left it behind but now I wonder, is this true and that I think writing a brief synopsis inside book cover is a great idea, it would have saved me the pure torture of Mike Tyson's autobiography and made me realive Magick was not a romping read.
