Amazon Free Shipping Rep Of Ireland Carrier asendia

I have been purchasing a lot from Amazon UK for over 12 years

Most times they provided fantastic customer service but recently this has changed for the worse and customer service replies very bad

Free Shipping which lot of customers use was most times very useful and quick delivery and fantastic option

Amazon UK in past 2 weeks have started to use Carrier Asendia for Rep Of Ireland orders if you ordered using free shipping

Previously before this delivery times was very fast and fantastic service using An Post most orders delivered within 2-3 days and reasonable delivery time with iParcel 5-10 days and Royal Mail 4-7 days

Asendia is a disaster for delivery times for customers based in Rep of Ireland
It can be on very rare occasions delivery in 5-8 days but most of the time it's more than 10 days and lot of times it will be over 2 weeks and high risk of order arriving damaged

Asendia should really only be used for UK address and not for Rep Of Ireland Address
Asendia take ages to ship the parcels to Rep of Ireland and which are then delivered by An Post.
Problem is delivery time can be ages as in weeks

Amazon List on their Website Free Delivery in 3-5 days for Rep Of Ireland that's not possible using Carrier Asendia delivery time can be 10 days to 2 weeks even 3-4 weeks or not arrive at all and from experience more likely to receive damaged goods

I sent multiple requests to amazon UK to not use this Carrier Asendia for orders from Customers from Rep of Ireland

I got the usual reply we don’t have the ability to assign certain carriers to a specific customer or address but we’ll continue working with all of our carriers to drive improvements for our customers.

I was then told the following
However, I would like to tell you that for all the cheapest delivery options, we use ASENDIA to deliver parcels, and, if you upgrade your delivery type, you will get other carriers to deliver your orders.

They will not listen and even replied in later email
We don’t have the ability to assign certain carriers to a specific customer or address but we’ll continue working with all of our carriers to drive improvements for our customers.

I understand you're upset and I regret that we haven't been able to address your concerns to your satisfaction. Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer any further assistance with this matter.

They ended the email with the following
Please note that we won't be able to enter into any additional correspondence regarding this matter

Basically Amazon will no longer provide reasonable delivery time if you choose to pick free shipping and will only offer reasonable delivery time if you pay for shipping

Amazon UK used to have fantastic customer service that is no longer what they are providing

They've been using those cowboys for a lot longer than two weeks. I had many items not get delivered last year. Amazon of course apologise and resend it again but through An Post. Amazon used to be the first place i'd go to order something but not anymore.

There are threads going back well over a year on here about Asendia, just use the search facility.

I literally did an order on Friday using free shipping and it's been sent via An Post. It must be related to the distribution center or something.

This is only a recent change before it was mostly An Post they used and sometimes iParcel and the odd parcel they used Royal Mail and rare occasion they used asendia
It's only when you use free shipping if you pay for shipping asendia will not be used
Before past 2 weeks I only had 2 parcels sent using Asendia and that was over a year ago and all other parcels was sent mostly by an post
I asked them to stop using this carrier asendia last week and this week and I was told by Amazon UK on Saturday September 12th 2016 from now on Free Shipping parcels will be sent using cheapest option which will be Asendia
Both of my recent orders that was shipped on a Saturday last week and this week was sent using Asendia

Ordered RAM and SSD few months ago. Asendia.

    Never arrived.

Amazon made me wait til the last possible date before issuing a refund for SSD (as the one I ordered haf since gone out of stock, sound! and priority shipping on replacement RAM. Severely hoped they'd show up eventually but nah. Vanished.

Then I ordered a small package last week, and it came in 3 days to my work address via Asendia. Maybe work address helped, maybe it didn't.

Either way, some serious disgust when I see that pop up after ordering!

Again, not a recent change, at least 2 years ago they started using Asendia. And every time they use them there is a fair chance you won't receive it. Cheapest wins for Amazon

You are not getting what I'm saying
Yes they have used in the past on rare occasions Asendia Carrier but mostly used An Post or iParcel

My post if you read it properly is that Amazon UK have replied to me on Saturday 10th September that from now on they will be using Carrier Asendia when free shipping is used and to avoid them using carrier asendia I was told I had to use a different shipping option as in pay for shipping

This is not the same as to what was happening 2 years ago as it was only the odd time they used carrier asendia
    Big Difference

Sounds like one step closer towards trying to force Amazon Prime (or at least an Irish equivalent) onto us.

It hasn't been rare using Asendia. They have used them quite extensively for my shipments. If you used the search, like I suggested, you would see that there are 5 pages of posts about Asendia in this forum, going back nearly 2 years. This would suggest that you have been lucky so far in that they haven't used them to ship to you.
There was a lot of talk in the freight business in the last couple of years about a carrier/courier that had done a deal with Amazon to have the value of the product deducted from their account if they lost a shipment. Regarded by many as financial suicide, people seem to think it is Asendia. The speed that Amazon refund on a delayed/lost shipment with Asendia would give that theory some weight. Certainly An Post, UPS or i-Parcel (Owned by UPS) wouldn't entertain the notion.

From what I can gather, it looks like there is a good chance of shipping into the Dublin warehouse, and delivering with An Post if you order late Wednesday, or Thursday. Ordering early in the week seems to go via i-Parcel or Asendia and takes much longer. Sometimes even Amazons preparing for shipment seems to take a week, even for product in stock. Buying from Amazon US has been a much faster experience, going by recent purchases.

I have over 80 orders with amazon UK in past 12 months and over 150 orders previous 12 months a good % of these was free shipping and I have had only 1 order in 2015 and 2016 where carrier asendia was used all the other orders was mostly An Post with a few iParcel

This changed with my last 2 orders as on both occasions carrier asendia was used
I asked amazon on Saturday 3rd September and Saturday 10th Sept to not use this carrier Asendia for Rep of Ireland address
The reply I was told on Saturday 10th September from now on all orders if free shipping is used it will be Carrier Asendia will be used and to avoid this carrier don't pick free shipping

They are now trying to avoid all questions about this change the last reply was please note that we won't be able to enter into any additional correspondence regarding this matter

I contacted Amazon with two separate issues recently and after one stock reply which I repled back to I got the same as above. Basically "Yeah we know, but tough toddy, go away". Wish there was an alternative.

Was Amazon Logistics free shipping or did you pay for shipping to Rep of Ireland Address
An Post AdressPal is a UK address so that don't count as amazon can use various carriers in the UK

I was told this was from Saturday 10th Sept by Amazon Customer service all orders from now when using free shipping to Rep of Ireland they will using be their cheapest Carrier Asendia and if I wanted a different carrier used to choose a different shipping method as in pay for shipping

The Customer Service replies was very bad and until now I have been very happy with Amazon UK customer service that changed completely on Saturday to very bad customer service

Used Amazon twice where the used Asendia. Had to cancel one order and the other arrived after about a month and I returned it. I'll be paying for delivery in future if this is the case or just use e-bay.

My post is regards to only if Free Shipping option is used and to Rep of Ireland Address and orders shipped from Saturday 10th September

If you used either Address Pal and Parcel Motel address these do not apply as that is a UK address

My Last two free super saver delivery orders from Amazon were both sent to my Irish address via royal mail/an post, my latest Free delivery order which is still on the way is sent via royal mail/an post.

Check your address and delete the Eircode from it if you use it as that can sometimes make amazon think you are in the UK.

Have you contacted them about it? I had similar issues in the past, what they did for me was change the shipping type to Priority so i would get it faster.

I finally got to speak to a amazon uk customer service employee who understands proper customer service
She understood my displeasure with amazon and previous replies

My order is been re sent by priority shipping today
I explained it's not in amazon uk best interest to be using the Carrier Asendia for Rep of Ireland Address and asked how many other customer orders they ended up having to re send

To cut short a long discussion I had with her she agreed it's not a good idea for Amazon be using this carrier for Rep of Ireland and best if it's kept for UK address only especially when she agreed it's costing amazon extra to end up having to resend orders
I asked her to check the amount of complaints from customers in Rep of Ireland regarding carrier Asendia before she replied to me with this

I actually asked if shipping department not understanding on occasions Rep of Ireland address is not a UK address and she said that looks as if it this might be the cause of carrier Asendia been used

She told me it will be passed onto the amazon shipping department the problems using this carrier to ship parcel to Rep of Ireland

Hopefully this will now be sorted and customers in Rep of Ireland will start to see majority of their orders shipped using usual carriers An Post/i-Parcel/Royal Mail when free shipping is used

She was speaking to a number of people while I was on the Phone and looks as if they looked into all the complaints
It's a pity not all customer service staff are well trained as she is as when you get other customer service staff not that good at customer service it causes problems

I have just been onto the chat function twice about it. There were 5 items on the order, two different pairs of shoes, a vileda mop thing and a walking stick and one other small item, all marked as in stock at time of ordering.

The agent took several minutes and then told me that one of the pairs of shoes was not available at all and they had cancelled that off the order and also split the order into three to allow for faster dispatch and delivery of items.

The walking stick and other small item are being dispatched now so may actually be dispatched in a couple of days, The remaining pair of shoes is due to be delivered
    Delivery estimate: Tuesday, 20 September 2016 - Thursday, 22 September 2016 by 8:00pm

and the last item the mop will not be delivered for a month!
    Delivery estimate: Friday, 30 September 2016 - Tuesday, 11 October 2016 by 8:00pm

Then to put the icing on the extra bank charges for me the agent also took the free shipping from the order by changing the preferences
    Delivery speed
    Standard Delivery
    Change
    Delivery preference
Dispatch my items as they become available (at extra postage cost).
    Change

It took another 20minute chat session to get the mess sorted out!

Can't fault the Asendia lads alright ! .......last two orders from Amazon have disappeared into thin air like a fart in the wind.

First one was overdue by a couple weeks back in August....gave them ample time to show up. Got onto Amazon who resent the order via An Post - arrives three days later no bother. Middle of Sept now - still no sign of the original order which I told Amazon I'd be sending back etc.

Second order, only a single film, again overdue by a couple weeks - again onto Amazon to give out about this shower, and asked them to just refund the costs of the item, and not to bother sending out a replacement (even though I know they'd come through as before). Left them in no uncertain terms that I would be having to source orders from elsewhere now as long as Amazon continue to tender work to Asendia - to be fair, the customer service fella was well aware of the concerns regarding them.

Have something on pre-order with Amazon. Wrote to them today saying I didn't want to proceed if Asendia were the couriers. Got a long response back which doesn't really address the issue, the crux of it being.

I hope you'll understand that we don’t have the ability to assign certain carriers to a specific customer or address. Please understand that our system randomly select and assign the carrier to the parcel however we’ll continue working with all of our carriers to drive improvements for our customers.

I upgraded to standard delivery but am going to cancel rather than risk it.

Just to play devils advocate here, I had a memory card dispatched via Ascendia on the morning of the 9th Sept, and it was delivered to me in the regular post today, so although it took a week, I can't fault the service.

As an observation, it looks like one of the services (used for periodicals a lot) where the items are all packaged ready for posting in one location (say the UK) and then bulk shipped to another (usually Switzerland or France) and actually posted in the other country, to avail of the cheaper postal rates

I got delivery of one of my orders that was shipped using Asendia

It had a customs CN 22 Label
Amazon UK was the seller and was a UK release from Arrow Video

The UK not left the EU yet and last time I checked Rep of Ireland is still a EU Member country

The other order from amazon shipped using asendia never arrived and amazon ended up re sending using An Post

Asendia are really mad carrier using a CN 22 customs label for goods shipped between 2 EU member Countries

My order with Amazon I paid Irish 23% VAT as part of my order and this was shown in my dispatch email and in my order details on-line
There was no usual amazon invoice inside the parcel so if this had of been marked on customs label over €22 if could have got even more hilarious

I can see why these parcels get delayed and must confuse Irish Customs
It's also possible a mistake of VAT payment request could happen if value was over €22

Just to play devils advocate, in the last two weeks I've made 3 orders, all sold by Amazon UK and free delivery to Ireland. One came via An Post and two via UPS *

    * UPS are actually pretty poor IME, took them 3 days to deliver my last package to Dublin 9, as in the package was in the drivers van for 3 days!!! DPD and fastway are vastly superior IME.

Have to agree about UPS, DPD and Fastway are usually excellent and An Post are always good. TNT are just Dynamite:D

I'm just guessing at the moment but is it possible Amazon are using Asendia to avoid VAT payment even though I was charged VAT in my order and are pocketing the Vat amount
The Parcel shipped using Asendia had a Customs CN 22 Label and was marked as follows
DVD Item Value (In GBP) 10,14
    Freight and insurance 1,52
    Total 11,66

No Amazon Invoice inside parcel that shows description of goods and that VAT was Paid
Yet I did pay VAT on my order

Yet my amazon order on-line and dispatch email has the following
    Item Subtotal: £11.66
    Postage & Packing: £1.75
    Free Shipping: -£2.15
    Total before VAT: £11.66
    VAT: £2.68
    Total: £14.34
    Paid by Visa: £14.34

Is amazon UK using asendia for goods that are valued under €22.00 or £15.00 GBP and this parcel then goes from UK to Switzerland and then to Rep of Ireland and then Asendia then use a customs CN 22 Label to make out the goods value is only £11.66 and goods are from a non EU country

If this is what Amazon UK are at this opens up a can of worms regarding VAT collection

Did your Parcel have a Customs CN 22 Label on it
Was there a Amazon Purchase Invoice inside your parcel showing you paid Vat

This Carrier Asendia is shipping some parcels from UK seller Amazon EU S.a.r.L. to Switzerland and then your parcel is posted to Rep of Ireland from Switzerland

Amazon UK orders from Rep of Ireland customers when Amazon UK is the seller it is not meant to be making it appear the item you ordered is from a Non EU Country nor should you be seeing a Customs CN 22 on your parcel
You Paid VAT on your order the use of Customs CN 22 is only meant to be used when item was ordered from a non EU Country seller and Vat has not been applied

If You ordered a item from a UK and the seller is Amazon EU S.a.r.L.
UK is a country which is still a member state of the EU they have not yet applied to leave the EU and you paid Vat as part of your order and the item ordered is from a EU Country no need for customs CN 22 Label
Marketplace Seller may be different as they might be based in a Non EU country.

It's wrong for Amazon to make out your parcel been delivered was ordered from a Non EU Country ????? What has happened to VAT payment you was charged when you paid for your order has this been passed onto revenue as a Vat payment

I just had another Parcel from Amazon UK shipped today
It was Free Shipping and they have use Carrier Asendia again :mad::mad:
Again it's a release with a value below UK £15.00 GBP before VAT is added

If this does not arrive by estimated date amazon will end up having to re send it as extra cost to themselves

Girlfriend ordered two games from Amazon using the super saver delivery with Asendia as the carrier, now I usually use PM if using Amazon, but she forgot to use it, this was 3 weeks ago and no sign of the games, complained to Amazon as this happened well over a year ago with Asendia as well, ended up with two months free prime and a gift voucher, they replaced both game and I used prime and had them the next day.

Waiting on a game sent on 9/9/2016. No sign. I thought Amazon were ditching Ascendia?

What's the longest someone has waited for something to arrive from Amazon that was shipped by Ascendia?

Waiting on a game sent on 9/9/2016. No sign. I thought Amazon were ditching Ascendia?

What's the longest someone has waited for something to arrive from Amazon that was shipped by Ascendia?

After I had bad experience with them 2 years or so 10 working days - 2 weeks before playing the game and demanding a refund from Amazon. I've had them change shipping and delivery dates on the sly without updating me in an email and stuff arrive 6 weeks after a refund because of asendia. Has to be costing amazon given the posts here. Not sure what its like now as I haven't shopped on Amazon since but at the time there was zero fight in them for a refund

You are near 2 week waiting now tell them it was intended as a gift and it exceed the delivery date and you'll get a refund and a 1% chance of the game arriving at all.

A few months back I got one weeks late and returned it, cancelled another en route (which never arrived) and amazon had no issue with refunds.
Had one on pre-order for next month (couldn't find it elsewhere). Saw another site selling it €10-€12 dearer yesterday and cancelled the Amazon order.

My complaints to amazon about asendia might have had asendia speed up delivery times or the speed of delivery time been quicker is just luck on last 2 orders but others have posted recently they also having parcels arrive in 3-5 days
The last 2 orders where they used asendia was delivered one in 5 days and one in 3 days

They are still using asendia if you pick super safer free delivery with my orders they are especially if the price is below £15.00
If I pay for standard shipping amazon are using iParcel or An Post

I preferred when they used An Post for all parcels and did for most of my previous orders be it free shipping or I used standard shipping until recently they changed carrier with my orders

They are using iparcel more now with standard shipping than An Post

As long as delivery time is 3 to 5 days I don't mind which carrier is used but I would of course prefer if it was An Post

    On a separate issue
I still though find it strange the parcels Amazon UK parcels have Cn 22 Customs labels this also applies with Amazon France/Germany orders if the Carrier is Asendia or iParcel
    UK/France/Germany are EU Countries
Asendia I understand as these get shipped from Switzerland so CN 22 Label is used

What's more strange is especially with iParcel and orders from /France and Germany is they are shipped from France/Germany to UK and then Ireland so why Iparcel using CN Customs Labels for these if they not been shipped from a Non EU Country tracking does never say at any stage they entered a Non EU Country
Even Amazon UK orders sent from UK to Ireland with Iparcel have Cn 22 label and these are shipped from the UK not a non EU country
