A Cleito tank with stock coils or would you prefer to use an RTA & build your own coils, very easy to do & saves you from paying out money for stock coils, there are some really good RTA's on the market.

Is it home mod or a going out mod you're looking for ,a lot of different sized mods, some take a 22mm tank & others will take up to a 25mm tank, any preference....

I'd prefer stock coils and it will be used for mainly home use so size of mod and tank doesn't really matter I also don't mind spending a few quid for a decent set up , thanks

I wouldn't go for anything too crazy for your first sub ohm experience. I remember the first time I tried it, it was with the Atlantis [I think that may have been one of the first proper sub ohm tanks] - with 0.5ohm coil. My first vape almost choked me :D but I stuck with it, and once I got used to it, I could never MTL vape again. I founf it so, so good :)

I would also suggest the Cleito nowadays, and the stock 0.4ohm coils. It's an easy tank to get along with, and gives a very nice, satisfactory vape.

That's great I'll be going up to ESI palmers town the weekend I'll have a look at the cleito, what about mod what would you guys recommend and also what juice is best for direct lung hits

I have a few good mods in mind, would you prefer built in lipo batteries or external batteries like the 18650's,you will need to get a charger for the 18650 batts but it will charge many batts like 26650,AA & AAA.

The Cleito is excellent & as Cagey says,0.4 Ohm coils are the best,I'm running 2 Cleito's,I have one on my Pico & one on my RX 2/3 200w,here's the links for those & check them out on Youtube....

    http://e-smokeireland.com/product/wismec-rx-23/

The tank with the Pico is a very good sub ohmer....

I'm not to bothered as it will be for home use so charging battery's won't be a problem but would like something that will do a few different tanks and coils, if I get into I'd probably start building my own further down the road

Th Cleito is perfect then, as the RBA section for it is very good. I use it all the time, it's as good a vape as many dedicated RTA. And until you are confident enough to build coils, the pre-made coils for it are good. I'd avoid the 0.2 ones though, the couple I had were not good. You'll get one of each in the pack to start though, so see for yourself.

:D:D:D:D I did the same,I coughed my guts up for about 5 or 6 vapes & then my lungs got use to it,that was also an Atlantis & I'm still using it,I find it better than the Kanger sub tanks. That must be nearly 3 years ago when the Atlantis came out, crikey,I'll be drawing my pension next year:eek::eek:

ESI have a massive supply of liquids,I mix my own normally but I do buy 2 liquids, one is Liqua French Pipe 24mg for MTL & the other is Nut Juice 6mg for sub ohming & one of my Cleito's has the Nut Juice & is delicious...

S**t only seen this now, anyway I ordered the pico kit and I also ordered the cleito, 30ml of castle black 6 mg I presume you lower the nicotine for direct lung hits, next week I'll get a mod for the cleito or will the one of the pico kit do the job?

Thanks again for the help much appreciated

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 195 ✭✭mossymac!

If it's the standard Cleito then the 0.4ohm coil runs from 40-60W which the pico will handle. The 0.2ohm coil runs 55-70W which is at the outer limits of the pico.

If it's the Cleito 120 then you'll need 100-120W - well outside the Pico's range.

For any of the above you'll need a decent battery in the Pico - the Samsung here http://e-smokeireland.com/product/samsung-inr18650-25r-2500mah-high-drain/ would do fine.

And yes, 3-6mg are the norm for Direct to Lung.

The Melo III is a great sub ohm tank & will work great on the Pico & your istick 40 & the cleito will work on the istick.

Always lower the nic when you go below 1.0 Ohm & don't forget to prime the new coils.
Did you order an 18650 20amp flat top battery for the Pico....
Can be charged using the usb cable that comes with it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,756 ✭✭✭Thecageyone

The Melo III is alright, I much prefer the Cleito though. But since you'll have both, test them and see what suits you better

So the gear arrived today I set up the pico and the melo 3 mini, I have it set in wattage mode at 33 watts is this right to have it in wattage mode with the .3 coil.

The first few puffs I nearly choked but getting used to it now and the clouds of this thing are massive and a really nice flavour compared to my triton doing mtl.

I think I need to order more juice this thing is eating through it, will set the cleito up at the weekend and see how that goes

The Cleito with the 0.4 coil is a great vape but it will also devour juice as will most sub ohm tanks. Your next step will be to start mixing your own juice which is the most cost effective way to fuel these tanks.:)

I don't mean to hijack your thread but I'd like to ask a question.

I vaped a bit about 5 years ago, just for flavour, and something to do when my buds were out smoking, things have evolved unbelievably since then, so I don't really know much.

But from reading a bit and talking to friends I gather that DL burns way more juice. But some say MTL produces better flavour, less clouds of course, then again less watts, less battery and less juice.

So why do people sub ohm?

Sub-ohming, 0.3Ω, at 5 a.m. here on iJoy Tornado Nano, arrived 12 hours ago ( after 27 days wait from GB )

The only thing I can add is , no lung muscle required:rolleyes:, or zero resistance :pac: on inhale.
I never smoked filter cigs, just rollies, Drum.

    🧐IMHO, God wants us all to ENJOY many,many ice-creams , 🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦

Good question actually. I was a MTL vaper for 2 years, and DL seemed a bit out there to me, especially after being a smoker for around 25yr. But after trying it, it was like a breath of fresh air tbh [after the initial couple of blasts where I thought my lungs would explode!] I find the flavour better with DL, you get a better sense of separate flavours on the inhale and exhale. I also enjoy the feeling of thick, creamy clouds. I'm by no means a "cloud chaser", I'm flavour first always, but thicker vape can give a much creamier texture, especially to cream/custard/desert vapes which is what I vape mostly.

    I'm a mid-range DL vaper I would say, I don't go below 0.3Ω and rarely above 60w. I'm comfortable in that range.

So why do people sub ohm?

Sub ohm I suppose is stage 2 of vaping, when I decided to stop smoking and began vaping I was content with the fact that I was off the cigs and still able to get the throat hit from something that was less 'harmful' to the body. Shortly after, the Kanger Subtank arrived on the scene and this opened a door to not only a new style of vaping but something more of a hobby. Before the Subtank you could put builds in a Genesis style tank, where the juice tank sat below the coil, but although these produced great flavour they leaked like a faulty fridge.
Today, sub ohm offers a huge range of equipment to the user and gives vapers more control over how they vape, experimenting with different types of wire for coil building, different settings on mods with the arrival of temperature control and things are changing on a daily basis with the arrival of new kit which we all want:).
So, sub ohm for me gives me as smooth or as powerful a vape as I want, gives marvellous flavour, clouds or both and is more of a hobby now than an actual means of staying off cigarettes.

I remember when there was just the 2 camps of DL vapers. The Kanger sub tank crew, and the Atlantis brigade :D I was in the latter. But yeah, that was pretty much the choice at the beginning. I think there's a new tank every few hours now! Too much choice really, can be a trial just to select one to suit. Good thing is, the tanks now are almost all good, the main difference between them is mostly down to the airflow options. When looking out for a new one, I say just narrow down to a couple, and maybe watch reviews on each then decide.

NAAAH,get them all:D,Your right about the 2 camps and I remember robust conversations as to which was best, personally I was never an Aspire fan, always found a harsh vape from their tanks/coils until the arrival of the Cleito and the 0.4 coil, that was a game changer for me and Aspire.

I loved the Atlantis, I had hated the Nautilus so wasn't expecting to be very impressed tbh. But that's what I had my first DL hit on, in my local iVape. By the time I left that shop, I was more than sold. Took an Atlantis and some spare coils with me and been sub ohming since. Later I got the sense herakles, and that was great. Even better, the coils were compatible with the Atlantis, so from there on I lived on sense 0.6 coils in both. I still have that original Herakles [plus the plus which I got from your good self] and I see that you can use the new coils for the Honor and the Pro in them, so might revive them when i can get some of those coils.

I have a bunch of tanks, but I still get dizzy when deciding on a new one. So I tend to concentrate on the airflow and flavour side of reviews.

Yeah the Herakles plus was a great powerful tank but very thirsty.
On a side note, your recipe book is filling up nicely with some very tasty mixes.:)
