For machinery, you'd be better with 3 19ft bays if you could design it that way, ie you'd get two trallers side by side in 19ft

I would get the steel purlions 20ft span 7" ones will take the span with a brace. They will come with weld on brackets. Fot the cost of it I would make it 12 ft at the eave. If you are handy with a welder I can get you a drawing for the fabrication.

Would second the 12ft at the eave. 10ft is a bit low I would have said - machinery isn't getting any smaller.
Plus if you ever wanted to throw a few round bales of hay or straw in, 12ft allows 3 high...

Ya yous are probly right with the 12ft at the eves suggestion. With regards width i have only 16ft to play with so thats a definite size. Anyone prce shed kits lately, something similar perhaps?

Im just at the pricing stage at the minute. It would be a fairly straight forward shed. Im waiting on fabricators to get back to me with prices but theyre taking their time with it..

5 or 6e per square ft the usual grant spec shed, I've seen kits on done deal for as little as 3e/sq ft, you'd have to put them up yourself.

Is that a fairly flat rate Tim or does it drop a bit a sq footage increases?

That's a pure guideline figure, all I know is obviously it will increase for very small square feet where the sides represent a much bigger fraction of the area. I wouldn't say it drops hugely for larger sheds, especially if you end up with very high centre on the shed which will obviously need more steel. Cheapest shed on DD I've seen is 2.9/sqft, was something like a 80x40ft portal shed.

So a 50x 17 ft shed would cost roughly €4250 at €5 sqft?

If you are doing a shed put in your RSJ conc bases before you order the shed. Get a laser level to do exact RSJ sizes saves a bit of work later. An few inches on RSJ's will not make much difference in the price of the shed.

Alternatively get the shed contractor to place bolt jugs in fresh himself. Centred and leveled for pillars.

I was thinking along the lines if you were erecting the shed yourself.

Hi , does anyone know if the tams grant is available for repairing a slatted unit? Well not quite repairing I'm raising the dividing wall in the slats and raising the depth of the tank by 2ft....

Even if there was and I do not think there is it would not be worth you while complying with the regs in a situation like that. I think there is a grant for replacing slats themselves.
