Oh yes I got a good feeling for this season.

I actually liked the serial nature of season 19 even if it stumbled a bit towards the finale.

So that its back to that is great and I like whats being set up this time.

Good first episode can't wait for the rest of the season

With the American presidential election day taking place on the 8th November I imagine they will end with a double bill of episodes 9/10 on Weds 9th November

I doubt it. I think they do the same as most US TV shows and there'll be a few weeks where there's no episode. Think last season finished up in early December.

Great first episode though. Loved Cartman trying to get the girls to be funny :D. And of course casually checking out Kyle's sh*t in the toilet

They did do an episode within 24 hours of the 2008 election ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/About_Last_Night..._(South_Park) ) that got them a lot of praise so with the election this year tying to their plot so much I'd expect something similar again.

I like how they have replaced Trump with Garrison.
Like to think Matt and Trey want to give him no airtime or mentions what so ever, even disparaging ones.

Thought it was a good solid start, certainly not the greatest episode but they're playing the long game.

Wasnt he the canadian prime minister in the last season? The one Garrison f*cked to death.

That was a good opener. Managed to tie in a lot of references. As others have said I also like this serial nature

Garrisons montage was fantastic. The anger in him shaking the podium.:D

Episode 2 was excellent! The ending was uncharacteristically powerful for a South Park episode - probably helped by Gortoz a Ran, tbh. Still though, Stone and Parker, as ever, having their finger on the pulse of modern society.

    Poor Cartman

Music choices were certainly great this episode :D

The scape-goating of Cartman kind of reminded me of the the guy who the "Internet" thought committed the Boston bombings. He had no connection to it.

And you got to love Mackeys reactions ......

hard to knw where there going with Cartman this season ???. I loved the old menacing Cartman but he seems odd now. Unless he is doing stuff behind everyones back

i wonder will they do a Pokemon go type episode. I wonder will they kill off Kyles dad ???

He's definitely got a hidden agenda. He may not be the troll but he's got something else going on. No way Cartman can turn this nice ;)

that was good with mackey alright, wonder how many people in those support type roles feel the same :pac:

Gerald's trip to the shops was brilliant

Highlight of the episode for me along with the "She quit twitter" reveal. Love Len 'Steal My Sunshine" too!

Magnificent piece of satirical magic from South Park once again. Social media, while undoubtedly a force for positive change and a good thing, has been bastardised by those who just take themselves too damn f**king seriously e.g. famous people, "popular" people, narcissists etc. Which is 1. why they attract trolls 2. why they overreact completely to trolls and 3. why they feel entitled to blame trolls for ruining their social media "lives".

Glad South Park finally addressed it.

Got to say, I did think the second episode misfired a lot. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed the first episode and I still think it's shaping up to be another great season.

Agree with the above comments re the music choices!!

    What's everyone's Thoughts on episode 3 ????

I thought it was quite good, nice seeing Randy and Cartman coming into it more.

I liked Randy's logic in how he came around to support Trump/Garrison for president because they agreed on a lot of things, chiefly how unqualified Garrison is to be president.

Nice to see a familiar face among the trolls. Also it's bang up to date with references to locker room talk.

Watching this series for some reason, I haven't watched it in quiet a while. Really enjoying the way the narrative is stretched out over multiple episodes, when did they change to this format?

In the latest episode, at the MBA (member berries anonymous) meeting Gerald doesn't seem to no anything about the member berries but was it not Gerald that introduced them to Randy or am I mistaken?

PS:Is it me or do member berries sound like slang for your nads.

Last 2-3 seasons I think have all had a longer story arc across the entire season

It was Butters' dad who introduced Randy to the member berries.

So i take it im the only one who feels the show is just not ''funny'' funny anymore?

Dont get me wrong its still good its still well written and taught threw but i feel this whole continuing a story thing they have done over last few seasons has watered it down a bit.

Used to really look forward to what each week would be and the original storys and randomness of each week but now it just appears that they are taking the easy route and basically just plucking things out of American society that write themselves.

Last season with the whole ads business eh? This season they could of went all out with trolling and trump over maybe an episode or two but whole season?

Theres loads of material they could use thats in society right now if they wanted to go down that route.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,824 ✭✭✭ShooterSF

Season 20 has been fun for me rather than funny. But last season was probably as funny as any. So they season long story approach isn't the problem I think the issue is it's taken over too much this season.
