There's a serious chill in the air this morning walking to work. I love it!

    The lifeboat has set sail

Latest GFS outlook showing a continued pattern of mostly high pressure.
    399614.png

Other than a passing front on Monday or Tuesday, it looks very dry!
    399613.png

EDIT : It will also be that bit warmer than of late as the high pressure will be bringing in air from the Azores.

Some seriously warm nights ahead, at least according to Met Eireann's farming forecast:

What a great day today. Was home today, out the back doing some DIY and it was genuinely fairly warm....even had the tortoises out for a few last real UV rays of the year.

    In Dublin btw.

Overcast here this morning, no visual sunrise like that, we had some light rain last night, I am putting the cattle in today, despite the good spell ground is wet.

very wet morning here, constant train of rain showers in off the Irish sea, if only this was 6 weeks later!

Be careful what you wish for!

A recent light shower here, bright and sunny for the most part, a chilly feeling 7 degrees right now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,516 ✭✭✭✭JCX BXC

Just reached 10c here in West Clare, wouldn't get this sun in the Summer. Quite windy though.

Praying for something interesting at the start of November!

I've been observing easterlies over 40 yrs and what's on the radar this morning is textbook easterly convection hitting north Dublin to Louth inland having developed over the max available sea track fron Liverpool bay
Usually bone dry down here in those unless a feature is moving west from the UK
We do well when it veers NE(in winter) as there's even longer fetch
Currently very dry here as you'd expect and very Windy,a cold sea wind, needing lots of layers today and a woolly hat
    T shirt yesterday!

There'sa nice layer of frost on the cars in North Clare this morning...

Currently 2.1c in West Clare, which is the overnight low. There is a thickening fog, and a slight ground frost.

    Lovely :)

It is impossible to forecast the weather beyond 7-10 days. You can have all the state of the art equipment in the world, all the dolphins swimming close to shore, animals going to higher ground, feeling in your waters, it is not possible to determine beyond 7-10 days.

It's not impossible, it's just difficult to do it with any degree or accuracy. We have forecast the weather from weeks out before here.

    Stunning morning in Kerry

Got down to 1.7C out by the coast, 2.6C leaving the house a short time ago.

Of course it is possible to make a guess as to what the weather will be like in a few weeks time just as you can make a guess as to the 6 numbers in next weeks lottery, what's your point?
