    Hi all,
I'm looking into painting my 19th Burke boat and am wondering if anyone here had done it themselves!
My main question is how much paint will be needed, in other words how many meter squared is the outside surface. Your help could save me the time and effort of getting the measuring tape and calculator out !!!
Are there any particular glitches I should look out for, before taking on the job??
    Cheers
    decdon

With fibreglass you will need to sand it then undercoat with something like pre-kote by international and then paint with Toplac a 750ml will do about 7.5m sq also try and get a primer that is close in colour to your paint that way you will use up less.
Before you paint are you sure that the gelcoat can't be polished back up you would be surprised how well some come back looking like new and once you paint you can't go back.
