Chandlery?

Where the hell do you go (in the North East) to buy ropes/lines/bungee/etc?

I need to replace a few worn lines on my Flying Fifteen.

I tried CH Marine in Newry (thankfully by phone only; didn't waste a journey); they don't stock lines, and suggested I go to their Newtownards branch.

I also drove to Sutton Marine/Dinghy Supplies today (I moved jobs recently and it's not far) and there's a 'Closed for Renovation' sign on it that looks like it's been there for months.

So what's the story? Have Sutton Marine been closed for long? Are they going to be re-opening soon? Is there a chandlery in maybe Malahide or Howth that I could try? Or would I be better off just ordering online?

    Thanks in advance for advice/info.

Sutton have been closed a few months, Marine Parts direct in Swords are quite good, I and others find them good to deal with.

They have a pretty good site. http://marineparts.ie/?sl=en

There is also a Union Chandlery at Malahide marina that might be worth a look.

Marinepartsdirect have a great selection online if you want to browse their stock online, very helpful staff also and pretty well priced too.

Mast & rigging in Donabate have a great selection of high quality ropes and lines, not cheap but really great advice from staff, this is where we get all our lines and halyards. They have on online selection also, www.yachtparts.ie

Viking Marine in Dun Laoghaire might be a bit of a stretch, but it is next to the DART. Park Malahide and DART to DL might work.
