Seems they're just matching Nespresso's Autumn promotion, Pixie for €74:

They must be offloading the non clips pixies?
Far superior to the innissia for €99.
The offer of an aeroccino when you buy 150 capsules basically means you have to spend €74 on the machine and €69 on capsules and you get an aeroccino.

    €143 all in.

Cheaper than the debenhams offer last autumn.

    This a good deal?

Very. If you're into that kind of thing.

Express capsules are available at 36c each, so you could get 150 for €54 or the lot for €128.

My Citiz is broken. I had planned to see about getting it fixed at some point, but this is very tempting...

It would be perfect replacement, great price

    n.

Newish to these - what makes it far superior to the innissia?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,522 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

Mechanically, they're pretty much the same thing, so the coffee would be the same, but the pixie allows you to program the cup sizes. The main difference is how it's made though. The innissia is all cheap feeling plastic where the pixie has a lot of stainless steel and aluminium parts and just feels like a premium product.
The innissia looks funky from a distance but is badly finished in comparison.
I'm sure there's no difference underneath and in terms of longevity internal parts there's probably nothing in it.

Thanks. Couldn't see how the coffee would be different hence my question.

On the current model innissia you can program the cup sizes as well

DID now price matching Harvey Normal on the Nespresso Pixies @ 74.99

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 522 ✭✭✭Walter2016

I would guess that this is a Nespresso offer and available in all stockists. Debenhams also have it for €75.

UK price is £65, so slightly cheaper here even with current currency exchange :)

Bought one yesterday, arrived this morning. I just had my first cup there an hr ago, lovely jubbly. Tks op.

    :-)

    eh.
Well you hold the button until you get the amount of water you want, it remembers that amount for that button so is set at that.

So it is set for your desired amount of water. you are not c++ or java programing but your machine is programmed for your desired amount of water

Nah, I had to ask for mine in the shop. They'd just gotten stock in and the cards with the Aeroccino promotion code were separate. Just make sure you ask when buying in-store. That was D.I.D. Electrical anyways.

There was no code in mine. Got it from Currys. I'm going back to store tomorrow to get it.

So happy with the purchase. Love Nespresso.

I've had a pixie for years - it's got dog's abuse, with all sorts of fake pods being tried out, but it works every time. It's going to pack in eventually, so i'm tempted to get one of these as backup. Great machine.

They changed the machine about 18 months back- its not the same construction/innards- that the older machines have (still has an unregulated pressure bar- which is the selling point of Nespresso- but the older machine is a different beastie). I have a 17 year old Citiz here- a limited edition from 1999- the guys in the boutique in South Anne Street asked me to take it in to show them next time I'm buying capsules and offered to clean and descale it for me gratis.......

    They change the machines periodically........

Ordered the Pixie in red off the nespresso website. If you order the 150 Milk Capsules pack you get a free gift for signing up. I chose the capsule holder but you could choose 2 glass coffee cups and saucers if you wanted. Seemed to be the cheapest way to get the Aeroccino deal with a nice mix of pods to try out even if some are decaf.

There are no milk pods. SeanyMc22 ordered a box of assorted capsules which is called "Selection Milk" because it includes a recipe for making lattes or something.

Its well worth getting the pyrex cups- they charge an arm and a leg to buy them separately (when you can find them). Its a waste of time getting the little Nespresso branded cups- fiddly little things that anyone with regular finger sizes can't even hold......

I just tried ordering the 200 capsule Nespresso Assortment to get (1) free shipping, (2) free capsule dispenser for new members and (3) free Aeroccino mentioned in the promotion.

However, the Promotion Code (under the scratch-off panel) is coming up as invalid at checkout time...

    Anyone else get this working?

I had this problem, but someone sorted it for me. You need to back arrow way back to your order, and you will see a box asking if you have a COUPON.....way before you get to the paying stage.

My order is in a van on its way to me :o

    Step 1: Shopping bag summary

"To use a promotion code, please enter it here"

Enter in Promo Code from scratch-off panel...

    NOPE: "Invalid coupon code"

I am absolutely typing it correctly and there aint no lower-case Ls looking like 1s neither...

Don't forget the full stops as well. I just tried again and it looks different to the panel I had yesterday - if you're still having problems, I'd ring them if I were you.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,083 ✭✭✭rustledjimmies

Yeah, rang them in the end. Promo code worked fine on their end so completed the order that way. I read the Promo Code over the phone so was obviously entering it right too. Odd.

Anyway, glad you're sorted. I got my delivery today - order went in yesterday morning.

Tried every variation I could think of! Spaces, dots, no dots, lowercase. All nopes.

But at least when I rang I found out about one of their assortment boxes not listed online. There's a Lungo version of the 150 capsule milk selection Welcome pack.

Hang on a sec...just messing with manually changing the other 150 capsule "milk selection" URL and...

    Voila: https://www.nespresso.com/ie/en/order/capsules/selection-lungo-150-capsules

You can see the product fine but can't buy online "Product unavailable", only over the phone it seems. Again, odd.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that you get a free capsule dispenser if you buy one of their Welcome packs in the first or second order. 150 gets you the Cube and 250 the Versilo. I think you can get 2 espresso cups or 2 cappuccino cups instead though. And all this on top of the Aeroccino in the promotion too. Decent deal in the end.

You did well! I got the cube with my order (150 milk selection). Excellent deal. I have had a pixie for years, but it must be coming towards the end of its life now - it has had dogs abuse, has never had anything but fake capsules, but at this price, I was happy to go with the real deal. Also, I drink fewer espressos now, so might as well make them good!

Range of dates- depending on the offer- but the 75 quid pixie is the 31st of October (the Free Aerochino- was apparently the 31st of August). There was a page listing 'Autumn Offers' which apparently is offline.........

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,083 ✭✭✭rustledjimmies

Nope, free Aeroccino if you buy a Pixie between now and Halloween. FYI, Aeroccino3 came with mine.
