Guys, what are these Edision OS megas like only I see a few people have commented on the SD picture quality, is it a big issue? Also anyone running an internal HD? Cheers

Not a big issue for me, adjusting the AV settings and it is fine.

I'm very happy with it so far.

There is a text button for subtitles alright.

I don't think the red button functionality works though, mind you i haven't tried it.

Thanks guys for the answers, quick question illdoit2morrow how did you get the discount to stay applied if you got it for €204, was on website earlier and it just reverts back to €221 each time, have ordered as cash on collection so can call tomorrow. Thanks

I think i just added the text 'boards' in the discount code box.

Thanks, gave up with that crowd, got one from UK with 500Gb internal drive and postage £190 (€220) should be here middle of next week.

Sigh... does anyone from freetv.ie read these forums... Maybe I should mail them and direct them here. I have told them, and others have told them that there's a bug in the web-site where if you enter boards.ie the discount is accepted, and then dropped on the next page.

Unfortunately if people search for the code with google, at some point someone said it was boards.ie (maybe it once was). Now only "boards" works properly.

As I have said before, freetv are getting a bad reputation and losing business over a trivial fix.

what makes you think its a bug, once you order you cant get the discount allocated retrospectively!! I got caught once as well.

have ordered from free tv a few times now and they have a great service,
pretty fast delivery too,
not that hard either to put a discount code in,
its either right or wrong

Yes they mailed me discount is just boards NOT boards.ie, which is why it sort of works. Any was too late for me but might help someone else. Thanks

Guys, Mega arrived today HD is installed but epg doesn't seem to recognise it have mounted it in vix as media/hdd is this correct? Thanks

Hi, yeah have done that, seems to be mounted now ok used the Vix4projects image although epg download just restarts enigma although epg seems to update ok, so not sure what the story is there.

I was just expecting an internal drive to "look" different or mount different to an external one. Never had a box with one in only Amiko Aliens upto now.

Do you have one if so what does the HD look like in the mounts section?

What image you using also?

Finally got around to trying to add the terrestrial tuner. Switched off the box, plugged in the tuner (just connected to the mini aerial that came with it for now) and it's not showing up in into when I reboot.

Any ideas?

have you installed drivers for it, usually in download plugins > drivers, you need to find chipset of tuner.

According to the FreeTV site they should be preloaded on the box.

I did buy from FreeTV. Still using the image it came with. Anyone know if they update their images regularly? Would it be worth trying to update to their latest image as listed at:

Guys, not sure if this only the Edision mini thread or Edision in general only just to update that the OS mega with the new ViX4E2projects image has Kodi 17 as plugin, have it downloaded but will need to do a bit more reading on how to config/use the app.

Must say though that the OS mega is a nice box in terms of speed and feel the Crossepg download, no kidding is about 3-5 seconds.

Recording and watching movies, moving in and out of different recordings is amazing, with no lag what so ever.

The step up from the Amiko Alien and Cloud boxes is huge, I know they are bigger in cost but even though I've only had it a week I am very impressed it.

Five mins set up and up and running, now I have tried a few images out there but each time from fresh flash its very straight forward.

You may have to configure the terrestrial tuner to be 'terrestrial'. That third tuner can be a satellite tuner.

Not at home now, so I can't point you to the right menu but I think it is in service settings.
