    Southampton-Pre-Match-750x360.png

    ....................giphy.gif ................

    Manchester United:

Provisional squad: De Gea, Shaw, Valencia, Bailly, Smalling, Blind, Carrick, Herrera, Lingard, Pogba, Rooney, Martial, Ibrahimovic, Mkhitaryan, Romero, Rojo, Rashford, Schneiderlin, Fellaini, Mata, Depay, Jones.

    Southampton:

Provisional squad: Forster, Martina, Van Dijk, Fonte, Yoshida, Soares, Bertrand, Targett, Clasie, Davis, Ward-Prowse, Romeu, Tadic, Long, Austin, Juanmi, McCarthy, Redmond.

This will be the very first competitive home game for Jose Mourinho who will record signing Paul Pogba at his disposal after missing out the Bournemouth game through suspension. He is likely to start in midfield alongside Herrera while Rooney, Martial and Mata are likely to keep their places in attacking roles behind Ibrahimovic.

Southampton on the other hand started with a draw in their opening game and will be hoping to repeat their last visit result at Old Trafford when they ran out comfortable winners back in January 2016.

    Head-to-head league record:

    Manchester United wins 23

    Draws 4

    Southampton wins 7

One man will dominate the headlines:

Don't think that Southampton predicted line up could be any more wrong compared to what they've been playing in pre season and last week..

    1-1

Yeah it is way off. More than likely unchanged from last week:

    F. Forster
    M. Yoshida Cédric Soares V. van Dijk Matt Targett
    S. Davis Oriol Romeu J. Ward-Prowse
    D. Tadić
    S. Long N. Redmond

The OP predicted lineup has no Herrera but he states in his preview that Pogba should line up beside Herrera. I just had to point that out.

I think this could be a cracking game and I'm looking forward to watching it. Rooney to score again just to keep sticking it to those calling for his head. Ibra to score two just because he is that good and United to win 3-1. Looking forward to seeing Pogba in the Premier league and I think he is going to do very, very well.

Would I be looking into the way the jerseys were laid out a little too much in that piece on Sky if it appears that the starting 11 were beside each other, and if so the same team as last weekend just Fellaini out and Pogba in?

I would say herrera out and pogba in. Fellaini had a good game and Mourinho was singing his praises after the game.

I agree Fellaini had played better I'm just saying based on the way the jerseys were hanging, but that could mean nothing also.

Only a few minutes to wait and see anyway.

Jeff Stelling constantly trying to be funny presenting FNF is kinda annoying.

It's great to watch, shame Henry, Carragher and Redknapp are there, I'd replace them with Neville.

Really excited about the match tonight.
Pogback, Jose's first home league game and a chance for United to get a head start on the opposition.

    Pogba starts!

    In for Ander.

Same team as last week otherwise.

  • Big Fella alongside pogba

What sort of apes are Sky trying to attract with this build up?

Jeff is out of his element. He looks fierce uncomfortable on that couch too.

This really is a load of old bollocks. Like Soccer AM mixed with Chris Evans' TFI Friday. Half expecting Toploader to come out any minute.

Just like Soccer AM the presenters are too old to be doing it.

Chris Kamara breaking all sorts of Health & Safety standards with that camera crew

Ye don't actually have to watch lads, the match kicks off at 8 which I am sure ye all now, why not just tune in then (with the commentary off obvs since I am sure ye hate the commentators also)

I am not watching either by the way so no idea how bad it is, but can certainly imagine....which is why I'm not watching.

5 Mins into the match, you'll be moaning about a throw-in going against utd...

This is worst tv I have seen in a long time.
The Kammy slot is embarrassing. He actually was talking about where Jose will sit.

And I know there was a Redmond interview and a bit more, but this show is all about utd.

It is just awful. Sky have let themselves down. They have barely discussed football.
You look at monday night football, and compare it to this. Joke.

And yes I have watched it all, not my choice by the way.
    Needed that rant.

I know english is his second language, but he is awful.
    Just awful.
Im sure sky are regretting giving the big money on a long contract.

All this coverage needs is Ant and Dec and James Corden to play a prank on one of the players. Maybe Chris Kamara might pronounce a name wrong!!!
