Crazy Return Charge

I bought an eBay item from the UK (Mainland) for £30.00 + £6.50 p&p. (I used AddressPal) - It weighs 5 KG It's faulty and the buyer will accept a return including UK p&p. The AnPost charge for returning it to the UK is €42.60 !!!! It's pointless returning at this price. Have I any other options?

What is the item and what is the fault.

If its a full on failure which cannot be repaired they might accept photos or a video as proof.

DX.com accept photos of broken things, I have kept some items as the damage was minor.

You could get a second item at a discounted price and keep the first for spare parts or sell on as damaged.
