Package from UK still hasn't arrived probably due to aftershave

So I bought three items from Amazon UK. Two of which wouldn't send to my address. I thought nothing of it and that Amazon were just being annoying so I asked a friend in the UK if I could use his address and for him to send me what I ordered. All he needed to do was place my address over his without opening the parcel. Well a week has passed and I still havent received the item. It was sent via international standard mail and contained a phone case, a power bank for a smartphone and some aftershave. I spent over £50 on everything and I'm getting very worried now that it's been seized or disposed of. I've just recently discovered that Royal Mail won't mail flammable goods which the aftershave would fall under and lithium batteries are also prohibited for some strange reason.

The reason for this thread is that I have no clue what to do. I called Royal Mail two times. The first I was told that it shouldn't be a problem and the package has just been delayed. The second time I was told that the package has not left the UK due to the prohibited goods. I am unable to track it so I have no idea where it is or how to even get it back to the person that sent it. If anyone has been in this situation or has any advice or possible courses of action I would really appreciate it.

The batteries are also a fire risk. I can't give advice on getting it back, but just so you konw you may also have been liable for excise duty on the perfume, I am not 100% clear on it but certainly if posting drinking alcohol from other EU countries are are liable for excise duty on it, and I think VAT.

You would have been better off using parcel motel or parcel wizard as it probably would have been cheaper, though still could have been caught. Or addresspal gives you a UK mainland address.

I actually tried parcel motel but seeing as their UK address is in Northern Ireland and Amazon would only deliver to UK mainland it wouldnt work. I've just found out about AdressPal so I will try buying the battery again and sending it to the address I'm given with them. I just hope that I hear back from the parcel that was sent and it's not been disposed of.

I mean it is ridiculous considering the Amazon package wasn't even opened and everything is in its retail packaging. I guess I learned my lesson.
